The Department of law, School of legal studies, Central University of Kashmir in collaboration with National institute of technology (NIT), Srinagar organized a one day Mini TEDX Srinagar talks competition in the moot court hall of law department at 11.00 a.m. Dr Anil Kumar, Assistant professor, School of legal studies and co- ordinator of this programme flagged of the event by giving the introduction of the concept of TEDX Talks competition. Mr Bilal Ahmad Ganaie Assistant Professor, school of legal studies presented his welcome address to the esteemed Jury members, Dean school of legal studies, faculty members of department and the students .The jury members on the occasion were Dr. Shahid Lone, HSS department, Assistant professor National institute of technology, Srinagar and Dr. Nufazil Altaf, Assistant professor, HSS department National institute of technology Srinagar. The special remarks on the occasion were made by Professor Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of legal studies who felt convinced by the holding of such competitions in the department. Prof. Mir also felt that the need of hour is constructive, innovative and critical thinking approach of the students pursuing Law. Dr. Nufazil Altaf, Assistant professor, National institute technology made a formal introduction to the concept of TEDX competition by referring to role of technology, entertainment and design in the higher education. Dr. Altaf gave a detailed explanation as to how students would be selected from the department so that they could participate in the main event conducted by the TEDX. The parameters for the selection were based on the content and presentation of the participants. The students making presentations were as follows:
1. Amjed Ashraf Student of BA LLB 9th Semester, talked on Significance of Storytelling.
2. Ubaid Mir Student of BA LLB 9th Semester, talked on Love Letter to our Homeland.
3. Humaira Jan Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Students Personality development.
4. Mohammad Aslam Khatana Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Status of Women in Contemporary World.
5. Mohammad Naveed Khan Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Stress Management.
6. Ahamed Basaud Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Struggle of Student life.
7. Aatirah Khan Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Tussle between Self Esteem and Ego.
8. Misbah Ashraf Student of BA LLB 7th Semester, talked on Issues relating to Mental Health.
9. Adam Iqbal Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Broke- A State of Mind.
10. Tarun Kumar Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Autobiography of V.
R. Krishan Iyer.
11. Ubaisa Amin Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Impact of corruption on society.
12. Bisma Muzaffar Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Domestic Violence.
13. Muskaan Shafi Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Story of Life.
14. Masrat Reyaz Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on Menace of Drug Abuse.
15. Waqar Ahmad Choudhary Student of BA LLB 4th Semester, talked on issues relating to poverty.
In the concluding part of the event, Dr. Shahid Lone explained in detail the concept of TEDX talks competition which will give opportunity to students on bigger platforms to perform and express themselves. The Results will be declared in a few days time on their webpage. Mr. Pabhakar Student from NIT Srinagar presented vote of thanks to the organizing TEDX team of NIT
Srinagar, sponsors including the School of Legal Studies Central University of Kashmir, on the occasion.
