Agriculture & Allied Trade between India and Senegal

1. Exports: In the year 2018-19, India’s total export of agricultural and allied commodities to Senegal was of the order of US $ 249.43 million, approximately 14 % lower than the previous year. (Table -1)

a) Major Exports: Broken rice, Semi/wholly milled rice, tobacco, boneless meat of bovine animal, coffee, other black tea, sweet biscuits, mustard seeds, dried onions, etc.

b) Minor Exports: Cucumber and gherkins, maize, potatoes, turmeric, refined sugar, dried grapes, fruits of the genus capsicum, vegetable seeds etc.

2. Potential Items of Export: Potatoes, onions and shallots, green tea, wheat and meslin, maize, vegetable seeds, cane/beet sugar, food preparations n.e.s., oilcake, etc. (Table -3) 3. Imports: In the year 2018-19, India’s total import of agricultural and allied commodities from

Senegal was of the order of US $ 31.68 million, approximately 16 % lower than the previous year. (Table -2)

a) Major Imports: Fresh/dried cashen nuts, raw cotton, gum arabic, other natural gums, other seeds of plant, etc.

b) Minor Imports: NIL

2) Potential agriculture items of India’s export to Senegal

Senegal imports the following agriculture items from other countries in the world which India has also potential to export.
