R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru:

R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) established in 1963 is one of the earliest self- financing engineering colleges in the country.

The institution is run by Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). RVCE is an Autonomous college. Currently, the institution offers 12 Bachelor, 21 Master Programs and all the departments have research centres, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi. The Institution has set its Vision “Leadership in Quality Technical Education, Interdisciplinary Research &

Innovation, with focus on Sustainable and Inclusive Technologies”. Recent awards and achievements include “Engineering College of the Year-2015” by Higher Education Review Magazine, Certified as 'Global League Institute' by Great Place to Study Research Institute (GPSRI), Ranked 49th in the Country by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ranked 7th among the top 113 Pvt.

Engg. Colleges by Week Magazine, Ranked 9th among the top 10 of 100 Pvt. Engg. Colleges in the Nation by Education World Magazine. The Institution has been accredited by NAAC. All the UG programs and eligible PG programs have been accredited by NBA. The College currently has student strength of about 5600, faculty strength of over 400, Technical &

Administrative Staff of 256 and about 250 Research Scholars are pursuing Ph.D.

About the workshop:

 The Workshop provides the participants with CNC Part programming skills, on state-of-the-art CNC Vertical Machining Centre and Turning Centre.

 The participants will get experience in machining operations using Canned Cycles in ACE Turning centre and BFW Vertical Machining Centre.

 The program is conducted by Eminent Industrial Experts in the area of Automation with well-designed hands on sessions.

 The five day workshop is interspersed with theory sessions and Simulation. .

Theory sessions are supplemented with practical exercises tried on CNC machines.

Objectives of the Workshop

 Understand CNC programming concepts for Turning and Milling applications for industry oriented components.

 Develop technical skills on Predominately used FANUC Controllers

 Develop expertise on Simulation with CNC train of MTab

 Students of ITI, Diploma, Graduate, Post graduate, Faculty, industry personals and research scholars

Course content:

Module 1 ( 4 hours)

CAM Fundamentals: CNC systems, Dimensioning, Axes coordinates System, Toolings, ISO Coding systems, Tool Presetting, Concepts of Cutter Radius Compensation, ATC, Selection of cutting parameters, G and M Codes

Module 2 (10 hours)

CNC Milling: Simulation Exercises of CNC Milling: Plain & Circular contouring, Use of Subprograms, Canned cycles for drilling, Peck drilling, Tapping, circular and rectangular pocketing

Hands-on (04 hours)

BFW Vertical Machining centre

Module 3 ( 08 hours)

CNC Turning: Simulation Exercises of CNC Turning: Manual Facing and Turning, Multiple Turning cycle and Threading cycle
