The adoption of the LMLC-based 5G standards in India will enable India to leap forward in the 5G space, with key innovations introduced by Indian entities being adopted as part of global wireless standards for the first time. WiSig has developed a 5G Radio Access Network (5G-RAN) based on an emerging technology called ORAN (Open-Radio-Access-Network), which is being touted as the next big disruptor in the 5G landscape.
Using Storage to Increase Data Rate
A new parallel approach compatible with other innovations (such as those mentioned above) is to exploit storage or memory space available on the receivers. The approach we have just seen illustrates what is known in the information theory community as coded caching, a technique for exploiting the space available on the clients and for transmitting cleverly designed coded files to increase the effective data rate during peak hours .
Dr. Lakshmi Prasad Natarajan
From a more theoretical perspective, encoded memory is closely related to a general problem, known as index encoding, that seeks to exploit peripheral information at the receiver to improve data. From an engineering perspective, this problem is related to distributed data storage, distributed computing (MapReduce), and multi-user communication in wireless networks.

My journey to IITH & 5GStudents’Diary
One thing I would like to say is that IIT Hyderabad has a lot of opportunities if anyone wants to get their carrier on board with 5G and I am quite confident that IIT Hyderabad will also be a pioneer. It is well known that only a few organizations in India know when it comes to 5G and other network technology.
Mr. Keval Malde
In summary, my work in 5G includes building protocol stack components, energy-efficient radio access network in the cloud, studying functional partitioning and different solutions for its deployment, making 5G work as a virtualized function. I met a lot of people along the way who had a lot of experience to share and knowledge to pass on.
Affordable Rural Cellular Coverage for 5G and BeyondStudents’Diary
We evaluated the proposed design using a system-level simulator and compared the performance with existing algorithms. Our proposed design won the “Best Paper Award Honorable Mention” at the COMSNETS-2020 conference.
Pavan Kumar Reddy Manne
We show how using a small amount of battery power can significantly improve the performance of connections to EH users. We show how choosing the EH parameter based on channel knowledge can lead to higher throughput.
5G and IoT : The Emerging technologies…
Although it is possible to harvest power from sunlight, vibrations, and other natural sources, it is radio frequency EH that is the most suitable option in many wireless applications. Therefore, it is imperative to improve the energy efficiency and lifetime of IoT devices.
Dr. Sudhakar Modem
I worked as an assistant processor under TEQIP-III between January-August 2019 and at IIIT Dharwad August 2019-May 2020. As a concluding remark, I just want to say that IIT Hyderabad is one of the premier institutes with the best faculties and innovative research environment.

Mr. Venu Rathore
Ltd., incubated at iTIC, has developed an IoT-enabled three-phase Power Monitoring solution for the industrial sector with real-time data visualization, analytics and alerts. It measures three-phase voltages and currents using non-invasive sensors and calculates various electrical parameters such as power factor, active, reactive, apparent power and energy, harmonic distortion, etc. These parameters along with the measured three-phase voltages and currents are sent via WiFi to external cloud servers for data storage and further analysis.
They recently secured a contract from AP State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) for deployment of their devices in all districts of Andhra Pradesh. In the last two months, they have deployed these devices across 40 industries across 8 districts of Andhra Pradesh, covering a wide range of industries such as fisheries, rice mills, food processing units, iron foundries, plastics and packaging units. They have received support in terms of mentorship, co-working space for their team and financial support from the NICE program and the HDFC start-up grant.
Know about SKIoT
In India, the majority of small and medium industries are set up with older electrical infrastructure and hence cannot take advantage of the latest IoT developments. The awareness of how IoT technology can be easily exploited is lacking in most small industries.
