Cultivate oilseeds crops like groundnut and pulses like black gram, green gram in coarse texture soils, loamy to sandy loam and free draining soils.
Horticultural crops
Planting time of pineapple, banana and other fruit trees till july.
Mandarin orange
- - During the month of June and July, Bavistin (1g/l) + Monocrotophos should be sprayed on new flushes and after 15 days spray with Bordeaux mixture (1%) or Blitox-50 (3g/l).
Ginger Vegetative stage - Weeding and earthing up should be carried out.
Colocasia Vegetative stage - Keeping the field clean and tree of weeds is essential for better growth so timely weeding and earthing up should be carried out.
Potato Tuber formation stage
Farmers are advised to carry out intercultural operations like hand weeding and earthing up to destroy weeds, to keep the soil loose for proper development of tubers and to cover the tubers with soil.
Chilli Vegetative stage - Proper earthing up should be carried out so as to prevent development of diseases.
Cucurbits Fruiting stage Fruit flies
Consistant stirring or ploughing or racking of the soil under infested plant or vine to kill the pupae.
Dusting the vine with some repellents like fine ash mixed kerosene to repel the flies.
Livestock Clean ad libitum drinking water should be ensured round the clock and water troughs / feeders should be regularly cleaned. Lactating and pregnant animals need to be provided enriched feed to meet the requirements and rest of animals be provided the maintenance diet.
Fishery Delayed onset of monsoon may have some effect on the fish yield and the production. Low water level will lead to high temperature regimes in the ponds which will add to the stress of the cultured organisms.
