LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE, GURUVAYOOR REPORT OF NCC ACTIVITIES OF THE YEAR 2018-19

NCC unit of little flower college has proudly stepped into one more year with the accomplishment of the NCC motto Unity and discipline. The 7 Kerala Girls Battalion NCC sub unit of Little Flower College has always been at the

forefront of activities both within and outside the campus. Our unit is blessed with a group of energetic and vibrant, hardworking and dedicated cadets.

• The activities of this academic year were commenced with the observation of World Environmental Day on 5th June. The cadets organized various programmes such as rally, flash mob at Guruvayoor private bus stand based on the theme beat the plastic.

• On International Yoga Day, June 21st, 60 NCC cadets made a yoga demonstration in the college auditorium to convey the importance of practicing yoga in our daily life.

All college teaching and non-teaching staff and students actively participated in the program.

• The enrolment of fresh NCC Cadets was on 8th August 2018. 48 new cadets are enrolled to the unit.

• The Independence Day was celebrated without losing its spirit and vigour. In connection with Independence Day, a flash mob was held by the cadets.

he social commitment of NCC cadets comes to the fore when our state confronted with a disaster. Almost all our cadets actively took part in the Flood Relief Activities held at Thope indoor stadium, Thrissur on 06/09/2018.

• As a part of Swachhta Hi Seva programme, cadets engaged in the great task of cleaning the college and public places in our neighbourhood.

• College cleaning (15/09/2018). 90 NCC cadets initiated the cleaning program.

• Guruvayoor KSRTC Bus stand cleaning (22/09/2018). 25 NCC cadets went to Guruvayoor KSRTC bus stand and cleaned the premises.

• Chavakkad Govt. Hospital cleaning (22/09/2018). With the support of Chavakkad govt. hospital staff, our 32 NCC cadets actively participated in the cleaning program.

• Old age home cleaning (22/09/2018).

• Chavakkad beach cleaning (30/09/2018). 44 NCC cadets along with their NCC care taker Dr. Sreeranjini K. cleaned the fish market and sea shore. For the memory of that, we planted some mangroves on the sea shore.

• In connection with Gandhijayanthi (02/10/2018), NCC cadets presented patriotic song, flash mob and street play at Chavakkad bus stand. 50 NCC cadets took part in the program. Essay writing and poster making competitions were conducted for all students of our college.

• As a part of Swachh Bharat programme, NCC cadets attended few awareness

classes, seminars and conducted surveys. Junior Health Inspector Ram Kumar sir took class for the cadets.

• Cadets attended a seminar on “the mobile app installation for water purification process” on 5/10/2018 at Chavakkad Municipality.

“Pusthakakkooda” was the initiation to rebuild the libraries of the flood affected schools. The books collected from the cadets donated to the programme.

• December 1 was the most colourful day, the celebrations of 70th anniversary of National Cadet Corps. All NCC cadets were present for the remarkable event at police academy, Ramavarmapuram and also participated in the parade.

• Our cadets attended the Vijay Divas celebrations on December 16th organized by Guruvayoor Municipality. Cadets got an opportunity to interact with “Saurya chakra

“award winner Subedar P.V Manesh.

• 57 cadets were participated in the Annual Training Camp held at Vimala College, Thrissur from 21/12/2018 to 30/12/2018. The camp left really a special mark in the minds of the cadets. Our cadets held up the pride of our institution through their excellence. They secured first place in group dance competition, second place in line area competition. Sgt Jeny Rachel Biju was selected for the second best cadet award.

• SUO Manju M.M attended the NIC held at Kanjangad during 2018Dec 22nd to 2019 Jan 2nd.

• Our NCC contingent participated in the Republic Day rally held at Guruvayoor Municipality with high spirit and secured first place in parade competition on 26 January 2019.

• Sgt Ann Neeha Benny (II DC Mathematics) Represented Kerala & Lakshadweep directorate at Republic day camp, 2019 and attended the Prime Ministers Rally held at New Delhi from 01st January to 29th January 2019.

• A career guidance seminar was organized for the cadets by Kerala academy for pre recruitment training on 01/02/2019. Mr. Pradeep kumar was the resource person.

• In connection with National Voters Day NCC conducted speech, pencil drawing, and quiz competitions on 5/2/2019 for all students of the college.

• The cadets of our college actively participated in the College Day celebrations. Guard of honor was given to the chief guest of the day shri Jayadevan, MP.

• Sgt Ann Neeha Benny, participant of RDC 2019 was honored by our provincial superior Rev Sr. Little Mary on the same day.

• A tribute was given to the Jawans martyred in Pulwama attack on 20/02/2019. We pay Homage to Our Great Soldiers in the presence of Major Joseph. The saplings handed over by our NCC care taker for the memory of the martyrs, was planted in the campus by our principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Moly Clare and Major Joseph.

• Under officers Manju M.M, Lini K.V, and Anjali T Mohan were got appreciation certificate from battalion.

• Regular parades and theory classes were held on Tu
