LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE, GURUVAYOOR REPORT OF NCC ACTIVITIES OF THE YEAR 2016-17
In connection with World Environment Day, on June 5th, NCC unit of Little Flower College, Guruvayoor participated in the Haritha Keralam program initiated by the State Government of Kerala, under the guidance of Guruvayoor Municipality .The program was inaugurated by Municipal Chairperson, P. Santha kumari. As a part of the project, cadets went to various wards along with the Guruvayoor Municipality members and collected waste and spread awareness on segregating waste as degradable and non-degradable(plastics).
In the afternoon session, NCC cadets planted saplings under the guidance of Capt. Dr.
Sophy Jacob in the campus promoting the motto of green life.
Once in a month, a cleaning program is organised by the NCC Cadets to promote the vision, “Clean Campus and Green Campus” as well as to be an active participant in the Swacch Bharath Mission of Shri. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
We organised programmes on the following dates. 5/7/2016, 9/8/2016, 6/9/2016, 4/10/2016.
Yoga day was observed on June 21st with a demostration by NCC cadets in the auditorium. All staff and students of the college witnessed the programme.
Cdt Nidhi kumari and Jeemol Shaji attended the All India Himachal Trekking camp at Shimla during 12th to 18th July 2016. Capt. Dr. Sophy Jacob, our Associate NCC Officer was the contingent commander of the 52 members of Kerala & Lakshadweep for the trekking in Shimla.

Cpl Stemi Mariya has been selected to attend The TSC Capsule camp1 at Calicut from 22nd July 2016 to 31st July 2016.
NCC cadets participated in the flag hoisting ceremony held in the college in connection with Independence Day on 15th August.
A capacity building programme was organized by NCC and IQAC of our college in collaboration with National Disaster Response Force, 04 Battalion, and Arakkonam on 16/08/2016 which was benefitted by the entire students of the college. Demonstration was executed by NCC cadets.
65 cadets attended the Annual Training Camp conducted at UC College, Aluva from 9/9/2016 to 18/9/2016.Our cadets secured first place in group song and group dance competitions and second place in NIP presentation and solo song competition. They secured the cultural overall trophy in the camp.
On September 27th, in association with the NSS and the Dementia care centre, Kottapadi, conducted a Seminar on Dementia and organized rally to Guruvayoor called “memory walk”.
Cdt Sajana P V and Sujana P V represented Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate and participated in the NCC National games at New Delhi during 17th to 24th October 2016.
Stemy Mariya attended the National Integration Camp at Calicut from 1/12/2016 - 12/12/2016
As a part of celebrating NCC day, the NCC Cadets of Little Flower College, Guruvayoor visited Snehalayam CSI High School for the deaf, Kunnamkulam on December 1st 2016 and carried out a cleaning program in the school. We gave an awareness class on cleanliness with the help of the principal of the school. They presented some entertainment programmes for the students and distributed sweets and fruits to them.
SUO Aiswarya A.G and UO Anju V Jammu attended the National integration camp at Rourkela during December 6th to 17th 2016.
Along with NSS volunteers, our NCC cadets joined the Guruvayoor Municipality’s Green Kerala Mission programme and collected plastic waste from the 4th, 30th, 31st and 16th wards of Guruvayoor Municipality on 8th December 2016.
The cadets actively participated in the programs and they continue to do so as a green soldier of the nation.
On Youth Day January 12th 2017, Ms. Elseena of Dept. of Multimedia handled a lecture class on automation and its significance in the current scenario. A demonstration on the use of ATM Cards, security measures for the prevention of misuse of the system also has been covered in the session.
Our NCC Contingent participated in the Republic day rally held at Guruvayoor Municipality and secured first place in NCC Drill competition.
Sgt Jasmin O S (II DC History) Represented Kerala & Lakshadweep directorate at Republic day camp, 2019 and attended the Prime Ministers Rally held at New Delhi from 01st January to 29th January 2019.
On 7th February 2017, the 7 Kerala Girls Battalion conducted a special practical and theory class in the college for the second and third year cadets. 72 Cadets from our college and 32 cadets from M.D. College Pazhanji attended the class.
Last year, all of our third year cadets passed the C certificate examination with A and B grade. Out of all the 12 institutions which come under the 7 Kerala Girls Battallion, only Little Flower College secured 100% pass in the examination.
