NEVADA STATE EXPORTS
# In 1999, Nevada’s goods exports were $1.2 billion, up 158 percent ($720 million) from 1992. During 1999, Nevada was the 44th largest state exporter of goods.
# In 1999, Nevada’s jobs supported by goods exports were an estimated 91 percent (6,066 jobs) higher than 1992.
U.S. jobs supported by goods exports pay 13 to 16 percent higher than the national average wage.
# In 1991, the latest year available, Nevada exports accounted for 15.6 percent of its manufacturing output and represented 15.2 percent of its total manufacturing employment.
# Nevada’s exports of manufactured products were up by 106 percent between 1993 and 1999 (from $540.6 million in 1993 to $1.1 billion in 1999).
# The five largest manufacturing sectors in terms of Nevada’s exports were: Electronic and Electric Equipment ($271.7 million of exports in 1999)), Miscellaneous Manufacturing Industries ($216.4 million), Transportation Equipment ($143.3 million), Industrial Machinery and Computers ($132.1), and Scientific and Measuring
Instruments ($98.9 million). These five sectors accounted for nearly 73 percent of the state’s total exports in 1999.

# Nevada is the country’s 47th largest agricultural exporting state, shipping $4.4 million in agricultural exports abroad in FY 1999.
# Total exports from Nevada to NAFTA countries in 1999 were 310 percent higher than 1993 (pre-NAFTA), rising from $161.7 million in 1993 to $663.4 million in 1999. During 1999, Canada was Nevada’s largest export market, while Mexico was Nevada’s third largest export market. Exports to Canada in 1999 were 307 percent ($454.4 million) higher than 1993, to $602.4 million in 1999. Exports to Mexico in 1999 were 345 percent ($47.3 million) higher than 1993, to $61.0 million in 1999.
# In 1999, total exports from Nevada to Japan were running 123 percent ($35.1 million) higher than 1993, to $63.8 million in 1999. During 1999, Japan was Nevada’s second largest export market.
# In 1999, total exports from Nevada to the European Union were 174 percent ($129.8 million) higher than 1993, to
$204.3 million in 1999.
# In 1999, Nevada exported $41.5 million to South/Central America and the Caribbean (excluding Mexico), $120.0 million to the Pacific Rim (excluding Japan and China) and $3.8 million to SubSaharan Africa.
