WYOMING STATE EXPORTS
# In 1999, Wyoming’s goods exports were $168.9 million,
up 81 percent ($76 million) from 1992. During 1999, Wyoming was the smallest state exporter of goods.
# In 1999, Wyoming’s jobs supported by goods exports were an estimated 34 percent (465 jobs) higher than 1992.
U.S. jobs supported by goods exports pay 13 to 16 percent higher than the national average wage.
# In 1991, the latest year available, Wyoming’s exports accounted for 13.3 percent of its manufacturing output and represented 14.3 percent of its total manufacturing employment.
# Wyoming’s exports of manufactured products were up by 68 percent between 1993 and 1999 (from $82.4 million in 1993 to $138.2 million in 1999).
# The five largest manufacturing sectors in terms of Wyoming’s exports were: Chemical Products ($37.9 million of exports in 1999), Industrial Machinery and Computers ($23.9 million), Electronic and Electric Equipment ($18.3 million), Petroleum and Coal Products ($14.2 million), and Scientific and Measuring Instruments ($8.9 million).
These five sectors accounts for 61 percent of the state’s total exports in 1999.

# Wyoming is the country’s 44th largest agricultural exporting state, shipping $31 million in agricultural exports abroad in FY 1999.
# Total exports from Wyoming to NAFTA countries in 1999 were 125 percent higher than 1993 (pre-NAFTA), rising from $48.8 million in 1993 to $109.9 million in 1999. During 1999, Canada was Wyoming’s largest export market, while Mexico was Wyoming’s second largest export market. Exports to Canada in 1999 were 120 percent ($53 million) higher than 1993, to $96.3 million in 1999. Exports to Mexico in 1999 were 168 percent ($8.5 million) higher than 1993, to $13.6 million in 1999.
# In 1999, total exports from Wyoming to Japan were 5 percent ($216 thousand) higher than 1993, to $4.9 million in 1999. During 1999, Japan was Wyoming’s sixth largest state export market.
# In 1999, total exports from Wyoming to the European Union were 69 percent ($9.7 million) higher than 1993, to
$23.8 million in 1999.
