INTRODUCTION
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), a premier organization of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, is a seat of great scientific achievements and an excellent centre of learning. The Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry is one of its oldest disciplines with high level of faculty expertise. Based on the long experience in human resource development and in view of the fast-changing scenario of soil analysis and instrumental methods and their applications, the Division conducted various advanced level training programmes with desired emphasis on practical exercises and theoretical background of the subject suiting a wide range of applications. The purpose of the present training programme is to effectively utilize the R&D infrastructure and expertise of the faculty to benefit other science and technology stakeholders and the society.
OBJECTIVES
The training will be conducted with the major objective of imparting training on existing research facilities related to soil, plant and water analysis and exposing the participants in maintenance and up keeping the equipments.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The training course is meant for researchers working in agricultural universities/research institutes/soil testing laboratories/research centres etc.
The participants will be exposed to the various laboratory instruments including their handling and working principles. Day-to-day maintenance as well as up-keeping of the instruments will also be an important part of this training programme.
ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION CRITERIA
Researchers including scientists, assistant professors, Ph.D. students, SRFs, JRFs, RAs of ICAR institutes and UGC accredited Universities/Colleges, who are working or intended to work in the area of soil, plant and water analysis are eligible to apply in the prescribed format given at last page. Total 10 applicants will be selected for this course based on first-come-first-serve as well as the working experience of the candidates.
TRAINING FEE & FINANCIAL LIABILITY
There is no training fee for this course. Organizing Institute will provide only working lunch during 1 day training programme. No TA/DA and accommodation will be given to the participants.
