Malayala Samajam Activities Report 2019-2020

1. Environment day celebration

On 9th June 2019 our department celebrated Environment day Pachappu 2019. In connection with the environmental day celebration the students of our department brought seedlings and made vegitable garden. We conducted Druda Kavana Malsaram

2. PENMA- Naipuni 2019

As a part of Zero Investment Incubation programme(Penma ZII) our department conducted a skill development programme called Naipuni 2019. With the

intention of developing self-employment skills in students, Department of Malayalam, Little Flower College was launched a self-employment project named

"Naipuni 2019" for students. "Naipuni 2019” was implemented by the Penma Club on October 1, 2017. Sri. Varghese Paul, owner and prominent entrepreneur of the Center for Alternative Learning and Living Together, inaugurated "Naipuni 2019".

Dr. Sr. Sheeba A. C., HOD, Malayalam Department was presiding. Dr Annam Sini A P welcomed the gathering and Sumitha P K proposed the vote of thanks. He urged the students how to be self-employed and live. He then gave the class about nine home-made items, including soap making and finoil making for students and its demonstration to the children. Students were given samples of each, and then they were taught each month how to make all these things and what kind of materials they needed.

3. Reading week celebration

The Malayalam Department of Little Flower College celebrated the death anniversary of PN Panicker, who was taught to read Malayali through the library movement. The Reading week celebration of the department was inaugurated by Dr Satheesan the Rtd. professor of Sree Kerala varma College Thrissur, on 18th June 2019 in which our College principal Sr. Dr. Philo Jees presided over the meeting. With the active support of the students, of Malayalam Department we organized a reading group called 'Aksharakairali' and conducted a book exhibition on behalf of this in collaburation with sanskrit department. In connection with the Reading weak programme our department conducted a one day seminar on 2019 June 19. The Topic on Bhashayum vyakaranavum.

4. OSA Meeting

An OSA Meeting conducted on behalf of department of Malayalam in which all round fifty students were participated. They contributed 12000/- for purchasing a library shelf.

5. Arnospathiri Study Chair

The official inauguration of Arnospathiri Study Chair of the department of Malayalam was conducted on 06.11.2019 followed by a One day Seminar. Rev Fr.

Gerorge Thenadikkulam S J, Director of Arnos Pathiri Akademy inaugurated the function by lightning the lamb where College Principal Dr. Sr. Philo Jees presided over the function. Dr. M. D Jose Rtd professor of Devagiri College Kozhikkode, Dr. Moly Joseph Mambilly the former Head of the Department of Malayalam & Dr Justin George, Head of the Department of Sanskrit were presented papers in the Seminar. As a part of the Activity of the Arnospathiri Study Chair our department coducted a s

tae level Puthenpana parayana Malsaram in which 15 Students from various universities colleges were participated. Our final year student Akhila Maria of 3

D C English won the first prize.

6. Moc viva: PG 4th July

In the academic year 2018-19 Moc viva of MA Malayalam students were conducted on 4th July 2019

7. Kesavadevu Anusmarana Seminar – Ezhuthile Kalapam

In connection with the remarkable day of a famous Malayalam Novelist we the department of malayaalam conducted a one day seminar Ezhuthile Kalapam by The famous critic Dr Prakash Babu, Asst. professor, Dept. of Malayalam Sree Kerala varma College Thrissur.

8. Bashir Anusmarana Seminar- Bashirine namukku vayakkam.

We also conducted a one day seminar in connection with the remarkable day of Vykkam Muhammed Bashir on 5th July 2019 in which Mr N A Scandha Kumar Master led the gathering.

9.Karkidaka Mahathmyam

To inculcate awarence amoung our students about the traditional & rich nutritious food habits our department coducted Karkidaka mahathmyam.

10. University Viva for PG 24th July

In the academic year 2018-19 University viva for MA Malayalam students were conducted on 24th July 2019

11. Eco friendly beauty contest

An Eco friendly beauty contest conducted on 30th July in connection with Swatchatha Mission

12. Moc Research Interview

As a part of selection of research schollers we the Department of Malayalam conducted a moc viva for the same.

13. Mega Expo 2019

As a part of collection and exhibiting of NAAC documents our college conducted a Mega Expo 2019 by participating all the departments of the college on 31st Aug 2019. We the department of Indian Languages-Malayalam, Sanskrit & Hindi - together prepaid an exhibition stall, in which the photographs of both academic, research and extention activities together with the achievements of the faculty were exhibited.The Expo was a great success in which Department of Indian Languages won second place.

14. Onam Celebration

Our department celebrated Onam in aspecial way by Our faculty together with UG,PG,and research schollers.

15.Teachers Day 5th September.

In connection with the teachers day our department conducted Sreshta Malayala Vidhyarthi Adhyapika competition & Enne Swadheenicha guru- Ormakkuruppu competion.

16. Hournering Ceremony

We the department of Malayalam hournered Dr Moly Joseph Mambilly the award vinner, in a special way.

17. Swatchatha Mission September26th- 2nd October 1.'Sreshta Baalyam Haritha Balyam'

As a part of supporting the various activities of the Government of Kerala, the Malayalam Department has started a service project titled 'Sreshta Baalyam Haritha Balyam' (Great childhood green childhood project). For its part On July 5, 2019, the Malayalam faculty members and Sanskrit faculty Justin Sir with students visited the Thamarayoor Anganwadi and spent time with them on songs and games for children. The pictures were made on charts and hung on the walls of the Anganwadi to facilitate their learning. Ecofriendly toys were made with paper and given to children. We decided to adopt the Anganwadi as part of its service activities and then to take action. Following this, on September 26, 2019, a vegetable garden was set up at the Anganwadi and gave an awareness class for parents of children. The event was graced by Dr. Justin Dr.Annam Sini Dr.

Sobhitha Smt. Sibi Smt. Adhima, Smt. Vijita and the PG and UG students of Malayalam Department participated in the program.

2. Paalana 2019

As part of the social service program, the Malayalam Department has launched a program called 'Paalana 2019'with the objective of being a helping hand for the neglected old age. As a part of this, on September 26, 2019,we the students and

faculty of both malayalam and sanskrit visited orphaned couple of Guruvayur area and provided necessary assistance.By cleaning their home and surroundings and by giving mental and ecnomical the elderly couples of various houses. The event was led by Dr. Sr Sheeba, Dr. Shaiji and Mrs. Aswathy and participate PG, UG students of Malayalam Department.

18. Aakasavani Yuvavani Thrissur 10th October

Our students performed cultural programmes like Group song, solo, Naaden pattu, Vercification in Akasavani -Yuvavani Thrissur on 10.10.2019 and broad casted on 20th Octo. 2019

19. Study Tour-17th -20th October

A Pleasure trip was arranged for the final year U G and P G students of our department to Uty & Mysore from 17.10.2019- 20.10.2019. It was a memorable invent in their academic life. A Study Tour arranged on 10. 12. 2019 for 1 PG Malayalam students as a part of their syllabus. They visited the remarkable places of Kerala state –Thunchan Madham Chittur, Stae Library Palakkad, Tippu sulthans fort at Palakkad, Kunchan Nambiar Smarakam at Lakkidi, etc.

20.Keralappiravi day & Malayala Bhashacharanam

In the academic year 2018-19 our department celebrated Malayala bhashavaram starting from Nov 2th Keralappiravi Day onwards. The celebration started with a morning prayer at college portico, in which our College Principal Dr. Sr.

Philo Jees presided over gathering and our former HOD Dr Molly Joseph

Mambilly inaugurated the function. The general secretary of the college, Sruthy Sanjeev, offered the linguistic pledge. Our students made three dimensional map of Kerala by using variety of seeds and enlighten the lamps in the map of each state. This celebration followed by one day and Extempore, Vercification, Reading competetions. The department conducted a one day Seminar on Nov.

2nd 2019 at college seminar hall in Keralapiravi day. Dr. Molly Joseph Mampilly, the former Head of the Department of Malayalam, inaugurated the function. In her inaugural speech she emphasised about the importance of mother tough in our day today life. College Principal Dr. Sr. Philo Jees presided over the function introdued Karkidaka Mahathmyam food & Ayurvedic fest.

For this our students brought some traditional food items and exhibited in the college portico.

Book releasing

On Nov. 2nd on the day of official inauguration of Keralapiravi day celebration our department released a research book entitled Keraleeya Navothanam Sahithya-thilum Samuhikanirmithiyilum with ISBN No. 93- 88830-97-0 - a collection of research papers presentedin the national seminar edited by Dr Sheeba A C

21. ICT enabled Workshops Nov 19th

P G & Research Dept. of Malayalam conducted a national workshop for Faculty enrichment on the Topic ICT Enabled Pedagogy on 19th Nov. 2019 with the financial help of CPE fund at college auditorium. Dr T Jithesh Associate professor

& HOD Inaugurated the function in which our principal Rev. Sr Dr Philo Jees preside over the meeting. Dr H K Santhosh the HOD of the Sree neelakanda Gov.

Sanskrit college Pattambi Presented a paper on The Importence of ICT Enabled Pedagogy in Malayalam teaching. All togther ten research schollers presented their papers in the parellel section. Dr. Sr. Sheeba A.C. HOD of the department welcomed the gathering and Dr. Sobhitha Joy, gave the vote of thanks.

22. Social Service Day 05.11.2019

The students of Dept. of Malayalam actively participated in the college social service activities, by collecting fund for the up liftment of economically backward student families and other neediest by helping them in their serious illness, for making homes etc. Our 11 &1 year P G students won first & second prize respectievly in P G level by collecting more amount in this collection.

Students brought variety of food items and made others to purchase things for this purpose.

23. PTA General body

The PTA General body of P G & U G students of our dept. conducted on 27.11.2019. Our dept. HOD Dr Sheeba A C and Dr Justin P G Asst. prof. & HOD Dept. of Sanskrit were delivered the classes for the parrents.

24. Swatchatha Pakwada

As a part of Swatchatha Pakwada department of Malayalam conducted a talk shaw in collaburation with department of Indian languages on 23/01/2020 Thursday at Seminar Hall. In which Dr. Sr. Sheeba A.C, Asst. Pro. & H.OD Dept.

of Malayalam, Miss Anroopa, Asst. Pro. Dept. of English, Dr. Justin P.G, Asst.

Pro. & HOD Dept. of Sanskrit, Smt. Sithara, Asst. Pro. Dept. of Botany were presented papers on Swatchhta Mission: In Biblical Perspective, Swatchhta Mission Single, But Great Leaps, Swatchhta Mission And Indian Values, The Role of nature conservation in Swatchhta Mission respectievly. Dr. Anuroj T.J Asst. Pro. & H.O.D of Hindi presided the function.

25. Research Centre

Being the research department of Little Flower College, Malayalam department introduced various research oriented programmes in this academic year. On behalf of this, our department established an Arnospathiri Study Chair and collected MOUs from various established institutions like Arnospathiri Academy Velur, Vallathol Vidyapeetham Edappal & Rashtra Deepika Ltd.

Kottayam. The department admitted six research scholars under the guidence of four research guides of the department after conducting the RAC. Jan 1st onwards they were undergoing six months Course work according to the regulations of the university of Calicut. Details of research scholars and their subjects given below.
