To prevent wheat blight, countries' capacity for seed production must be improved. DG, ICAR suggested that if the existing variety of Suvin cotton is performing well, then there is a need to promote the same.
Integrated Nutrient Management (INM)
Protected cultivation protocol for Papaya should be developed within 6 months and details of IPM for mango will be provided immediately. It was decided to include control measures for whitefly in Banana among the issues to be flagged.

SEEDS
Seed standards
In addition, to cover any shortages due to climatic anomalies, the centers were asked to draw up a plan for the production of quota breeding seeds. ICAR is requested to supply the seed grading – Top and bottom sieve openings in mm (screens with round perforations in mm, sieve with slotted (elongated) perforations in mm, mesh sieves) for all individual crop varieties (for breeding seed production – indented with ICAR & SAUs) to DAC for providing the same to all seed producers and farmers.
The details of species to be covered for developed Seed Certification Standards
Quantity of Shortage in indented Varieties B/S Production (Quantity in Quintals)
Grading screen sizes standardized in field crops
Action completed
For other crops like guava (3x3 m), mango (5x5 m) and citrus (6x3 m), high density planting system as developed by ICAR institute should be promoted.

NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT / RAINFED FARMING SYSTEM
The National Policy on Plant Waste Management, 2014 has been formulated and circulated to the States for approval. The policy envisages incorporation of crop residues into the soil through adoption of conservation agricultural practices, use for compost preparation for mushroom growth by surface mulching and left in the field and planting of future crops through training with happy planters/ turbo-seeder/zero-seed-sperm.

UPC-5287 Resistant to YMV, anthracnose wilt, stem and root rot, hairy caterpillar, fungus and seed. Long African Maize Resistant to leaf blight, rust blight, stem rot and stem blight.
Features
Pre-method of sugarcane planting also reduces the sticking of sugarcane due to better and deep root growth. In order to mechanize the planting of sugarcane, a multitasking equipment called as deep furrow sugarcane cutter planter has been designed and developed at ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow (IISR).
Specification
Planting of sugarcane involves cutting for the preparation of seed material, pre-opening in the field, placing seed in furrows, mixing of fertiliser, application of insecticide over sets and then covering of sets with soil and board. Under the traditional system of sugarcane planting, a tractor-drawn disc is used to open furrows and the remaining planting operations are done by hand.
Performance details
Fertilizer left in the fertilizer box must be removed at the end of the day. The gears and sprockets must be lubricated at the beginning and at the end of the planting season.
Troubleshooting
The fertilizer container should be washed and dried occasionally to prevent rust on the dosing rollers and fertilizer container. If a problem is observed during operation of the planter, it must be stopped immediately and the problem can be diagnosed and corrected before further operation.
GROUP PARTICIPANTS
Accordingly, seed production of these varieties is carried out at ICAR-CICR Coimbatore in nine hectares of seed production premises. The seed produced in 9 hectares will be available for around 900 frontline demonstrations for North India and 100 hectares of seed production.
