Prof. S Durga Bhavani is the Director at School of Information Technology from 22nd December 2015. She served as JNTUH CSE Board of Studies Chairperson from October 2014 to December 2016), officer in charge Examinations SIT from 2005 to 2016 and placement officer SIT from 2003 to 2005.
She has 29 years of Teaching and Research experience. She is a life Member of ISTE.
She has taught subjects like Probability and Statistics, Numerical Methods, Discrete Structures, Operations Research, Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Simulation and Modeling, Computer Graphics, Data Base Management Systems, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Information Retrieval Systems. Her areas of research include Evidential Reasoning and Data mining techniques.
She has worked as Systems programmer from April 1987 to October 1992, Assistant Professor from October 1992 to May2003, Associate Professor from May 2003 to February 2006 and Professor from February 2006 till date in JNTUH Hyderabad. She supervised 3 Ph.D scholars and supervising 5 research scholars. She has published more than 20 research papers at International / National Journals / Conferences including IEEE.
She did her primary school studies from Little buds KG and primary school, Aghapura, Hyderabad, 6th standard from Government High School in Jummarath Bazar, Hyderabad, 10th standard in Saraswathi Balika Patasala Pheelkhana Hyderabad in 1973, Intermediate from Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Maha Vidyalaya, Exhibition grounds, Hyderabad in 1975, B.Sc. from St. Francis Degree College, Begumpet Hyderabad, in 1978, M. Sc. Statistics from Osmania University in 1980, M.Tech (Computer Science) in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad in 1992 and PhD from University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad in 2003.
