RESEARCH CLUB 2014-2015
Research oriented activities were conducted in the department from its beginning but the research club was formally started in our department in the academic year 2014-15. The aim of the research club was to inculcate research aptitude among students. The main activities of research club included workshops, debates, exhibitions, group discussions, wall magazine, symposium, seminars, expert lectures, field study etc.
In connection with the inauguration of research club on 27-11-2014, an expert lecture on the topic ‘Research Methodology’ was given by Prof.
Radhalakshmy.T.V, Rtd. Professor of this department. The club activities help the students to develop historical interest and to find out what happened in the past.
Our students conducted field study in Dutch fort at Chettuvai and visited Pattanam, the excavated site of Muziris. Our students collected many of the antique items to enrich our museum. From the year 2009-2010 onwards our students published historical articles in the form of a manuscript named ‘Historia’
