Sajeed Fahurdeen
Sajeed is an Attorney at Law and holds a Masters degree in Human Rights and a Bachelor of Laws (L.LB) degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has worked in protection and promotion of human rights, in the development sector, researcher, excellent facilitator, a trainer and also an activist who defends the rights of aggrieved and disadvantaged communities.
He is presently engaged as a National Coordinator of a Project on promotion of religious harmony and human rights in Sri Lanka with Equitas. He has worked with the United Nations Development Programme as Field Researcher, Technical expert on Prison Reforms and as a Project Officer for more than 5 years. He is also a freelance consultant. He has also worked with the special Project for the Protection of the Rights of the Internally Displaced Persons of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka as a National Programme Officer from 2006 – 2009.
