While accepting the proposal and premium, Branch/PACS will be responsible for verifying the sum assured and its limit, applicable premium rate, etc. Bank Branch/PACS will then consolidate these details and send them to the respective Nodal Bank , and Nodal Banks shall submit, in the crop insurance returns in the prescribed format, along with the premium, to the insurance company within the stipulated time.

The banks/PACS must also ensure that the consolidated statement along with the premium amount is transferred to the insurance company within the stipulated time, failing which they will be responsible for payment of any claims to the farmers.
