Hyderabad: The educational institutions from the State have shined in the recently released ranking of the National Institutional Ranking Frame (NIRF) of the Ministry Human Resource Development.The University of Hyderabad was ranged fourth among all universities and 11th among all the institutions in the country. In 2018, it was ranked fifth among varsities and 11th among all institutions.In the engineering category, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Hyderabad was ranked eighth in the country and institute has improved its position from last year when it was ranked ninth. The IIT-Hyderabad was also ranked 10th in the first edition of Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) introduced this year.A total 16 engineering colleges have made it to the top 200 spot. While the National Institute of Technology-Warangal got 26th rank, International Institute of Information
Technology-Hyderabad, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, University College of Engineering, Osmania University and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology were ranked at 39, 45, 83 and 100 respectively.The 100-year-old Osmania University got 26th position among top universities of the country while it had to settle with 43rd rank in the overall rankings. In the law category, NALSAR University
of Law, Hyderabad has been only university that was ranked third in the country. The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research got sixth rank in the pharmacy among all the entries received for pharmacy.
ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education at 26th and Institute of Management Technology at 67th were only two institutions figured in the management category.
This year none of the medical and architecture college from the State found a place in the NIRF ranking.
