ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Maxine Borowsky Junge, Ph.D, LCSW, ATR-BC, HLMwas a student at Overland Avenue Elementary School, Palms Junior High School and Hamilton High School, all in Los Angeles. She earned a B.A.
with Honors from Scripps College (Art and Humanities), a Master of Social Work from USC and a Ph.D. from the Fielding Graduate University in Human and Organizational Systems. She attended art schools since age 12 in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, London, and Mexico and studied at UCLA in the graduate program in painting. She apprenticed as a clinical art therapist to Helen Landgarten, began teaching art therapy in 1974 at Immaculate Heart College and was a faculty member and chair of the art therapy department at Loyola Marymount University until 2001. Dr. Junge also taught at God - dard College and Antioch University-Seattle. She is active as an artist, most recent- ly doing a series of drawings about mass murderers, for which she won “Best of Show” at a local exhibit. She published seven books before this one and lives on Whidbey Island, Washington ([email protected]).
Kim Newall, MA, provides the student voice in this book. She is a recent graduate in art therapy and men- tal health counseling at Antioch University, Seattle. She earned her BFA at the University of Washington and continues to teach as an artist-in-residence in the public schools across Washington State. Her paintings, sculp- ture, and prints have been exhibited throughout the Northwest ([email protected]).
