[ 1] The Feynman Lectures on Physics
[ 2] This lecture was presented by Dr. Richard Feynman
[ 3] on September 29th, 1961 at the California Institute of Technology.
[ 4] Volume 1, Chapter 2 [ 5] Basic Physics
This is the second of three lectures whose [ 6] purpose [it] is to
[ 7] acquaint you with the position of physics, [ 8] or science in general,
[ 9] what our view of the world is.
[10] Section 2.1 [11] Introduction
[12] In this lecture, I'm going to [13] tell all of the ideas,
[14] the fundamental ideas [15] that we have in --uh-- [16] physics. You find
[17] the summary of the previous lecture on this board, always.
[23] I want to discuss the nature of things as we see it at -uh- [24] present time. I'm not gonna discuss the history of it, [25] or how we know that it all is true,
[26] but only what we found out to be true. You'll learn all the details in due time, but in the meantime, we have a very rough
[27] very rapid sketch
[29] for everything. So, the name of this --uh-- [30] lecture, second lecture, is
[31] the present situation in basic [32] physics.
