今月の歌 Round and Round the Garden 1 年生は今週初めての英語の授業がありま した。一学期は動物について学びます。英語で ゲームをしたり、歌を歌ったりすることが、英語 を学ぶ手助けとなります。宿題はアルファベット を書く練習のワークシートと、歌の CD を聞いて くることです。CD は来週配布します。

今月の歌 Eeeny Meenie Miney Mo ２年生は今年度、食べ物についてたくさ ん学びます。一学期は果物と野菜について 学習していきます。宿題は 1 年生の時と同じ 様にワークシートの形式ですが、一度に２文 字ずつに量が増えます。また、ナーサリー ライムをお家でも聞くようにしてください。

今月の単語は ai, ay のつく言葉です。
６年生のテストでは単語すべての綴りを 書けるように練習しましょう。
６年生は更に時制などの文法事項も 増えていきます。今までの積み重ねを 形にしていく一年になります。

英語科から授業の内容やアフタースクールについての情報などを発信していきます。
今年度もよろしくお願いいたします。
５年生はテキストの２冊目に入ります。早 口言葉がたくさん出てきますので練習しま しょう。今月の単語は、bl, cl, flのつく 言葉です。３つの音の違いに注目しましょ う。初めは綴りが全部書けなくてもいいの で、書ける単語を増やしていきましょう。

３年生では、３文字の単語を学習しはじ めます。その前にABCの復習をしています が、宿題で書いてくる字を見るととても丁 寧に書くことができていました。基本単語 も増えていくので、どんどん語彙を増やし ていきましょう

Year 2 – 6: Welcome back and to a new school year. Students started by sharing their Spring Break experiences and each wrote an essay on how they spent the holidays. We also wrote “All About My English”, where students take a look at their strong points and weakness with respect to English, thought about how to improve, and finally are turning it into our “Goals” for the year. We are now working on “Name Poems” where students write poems with the letters of their names. Each grade has a different style of poem to write.
Culture Corner: In December last year, we started a new program “Culture Corner” in Hokusenryo with Mr. Okori. This is a space for students to relax, make new friends, talk to each other about their experiences, school life, play games, get help with their homework, and so on. We will continue this program this year beginning after Golden Week on Thursdays and Fridays from 15:30 to 16:30. All students are welcomed to make the best use of this space to help themselves and practice their English skills.
Club: Students at the International English department had a great time playing and learning during “After School” hours last year. This program will start again this year starting after the “Golden Week”, May 23rd. We can’t wait to see the student’s happy faces again, and we look forward to a year of new activities!
Ms. Atkin Mondays: Ms. Atkin will continue to be available to assist students with their English homework during 7th hour. Please bring your work, including novel study book if needed, and any questions you have.
MobyMax: Students should continue to work on MobyMax. Many students have already begun working hard.
