2018 年度スーパーグローバル大学創成支援事業 国費外国人留学生募集要項
本学がスーパーグローバル大学創成支援事業に採択されたことにともない、国費外国人留学生 枠が拡大されました。
ついては、スーパーグローバル大学創成支援事業の趣旨に鑑み、2018年4月入学者のうち特に 優秀な学生で、奨学金の支給を必要とする外国人留学生を下記の通り募集します。
なお、本募集要項記載の情報は、2017年11月下旬を予定する、文部科学省からの正式な募集 要項の発表により、修正される可能性がありますのでご了承ください。
Ａ．応募者の資格及び条件
応募可能な者は、以下のすべての条件を満たす者とします。
（1） 対象：2018年4月入学のGAC入学試験に出願しているか、すでに合格した新学部１年次 入学予定者のうち、特に優秀である者。
（2） 国籍：2018年4月1日現在で、日本国政府と国交のある国籍を有すること。
（3） 年齢：原則として、1993年4月2日以降に出生した者。
（4） 健康：日本留学にあたって心身ともに支障がないと判断される者。
（5） 渡日時期：原則として、2018年4月の大学の指定する日までに来学が可能であること。
（6） 査証取得：原則として、2018年4月1日現在「留学」の査証を取得していること。
（7） 直近の過去１年間の学業成績が、文末に示す学業成績係数に換算して2.50以上であり、奨 学金支給期間中においてもこれを維持する見込みのある者。
（8） 日本留学中、日本の国際化に資する人材として、豊橋周辺で開催される様々な活動に参加 することで、自国と日本の相互理解に貢献するとともに、卒業後も本学と緊密な連携を保ち、
卒業後のアンケート調査等に協力する他、帰国後は在外公館等が実施する各事業に協力する ことで、自国と日本との関係の向上に努めること。
（9） その他：文部科学省の定める条件に合致する者。
以下に掲げる者については，対象外とする。採用以降に判明した場合には辞退すること。
1. 渡日時において，現役軍人又は軍属の資格の者。
2. 標準修了年限内での卒業が不可能である者。（やむを得ない事情により休学する場合を除く。） 3. 他の奨学金（日本政府（文部科学省）及び（独）日本学生支援機構が実施している留学生を
対象とした他の支援制度及び自国政府機関等を含む）を受給する者。
Ｂ．推薦予定人数 5名*
*国費外国人留学生に採択されなかった学生は、同一の申請書類により留学生受入れ促進プログ ラム（学習奨励費）へ申請することができます。
Ｃ．奨学金等
入学料： 免除（本学負担）
授業料： 免除（本学負担）
渡日・帰国旅費： 支給なし 奨学金： 月額 117,000円 奨学金支給期間：
2018年4月から2019年3月までの1年間
*ただし、成績優秀者については、審査の上、支給期間が延長されることがある。
次の場合は原則として奨学金の支給を取り止める。また、これらに該当するにもかかわらず奨 学金を受給した場合、該当する期間に係る奨学金の返納を命じることがある。なお、大学を休 学、又は長期に欠席した場合、奨学金は支給されない。
1. 申請書類に虚偽の記載があることが判明したとき。
2. 文部科学大臣への誓約事項に違反したとき。
3. 日本の法令に違反し、無期又は一年を超える懲役若しくは禁固に処せられたとき。
4. 大学において退学等の懲戒処分を受けたとき、又は除籍となったとき。
5. 学業成績不良や停学等により標準修業年限内での修了が不可能であることが確定したとき。
6. 退学したとき、又は他の大学に転学したとき。
7. 「留学」以外の在留資格になったとき。
8. 他の奨学金を受給したとき。
9. 文部科学省の措置等により当該支援が打ち切られたとき。

② 研究分野及び研究（学習）計画書
③ 在籍・出身高等学校等からの推薦書*
④ 成績証明書*
⑤ 語学能力を証明する書類（TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, 日本語能力検定等）*
*申請者の同意により、③、④及び⑤の書類については、GAC 入学試験に提出したものを使用す
ることができます。この場合、申請者は③、④及び⑤の書類を二重に提出する必要はありません。

2017年12月1日（金）～12月26日（火）17:00（日本時間）必着（メール、郵送とも）
Ｆ．申請上の注意事項
1. 申請書様式は本学ホームページからダウンロードすること。
2. 書類はすべて日本語もしくは英語により作成すること。また、証明書等が他の言語で発行さ れている場合は、翻訳を付すこと。
3. 申請書類は必ず事前にEmailで送信し、その後で郵送のこと。
4. 申請書が全て完全にかつ正確に記載されていない場合、また、申請期限を過ぎたものは、一 切受理しない。
5. 一度提出された申請書類は返却しない。
6. 選考経緯についての問い合わせには一切応じない。
7. 募集要項、申請書類に併記された英文は便宜上付したものであり、英文による表現が日本文 の内容を変更するものではないので、記載内容に疑問がある場合は、大学まで照会すること。

Application Guide for
Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship 2018 (Top Global University Project)
Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT) has been selected as one of 37 Japanese universities to participate in the "Top Global University Project" funded by the Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: MEXT). As a result, TUT can accept a greater number of Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship students.
Therefore, we would like to recruit candidates who are intending to enroll at TUT in April 2018, are especially brilliant, and in need of a scholarship in the view of the purpose of “Top Global University Project” as follows.
This application guide may be amended after MEXT’s official application guide, which is planned to be available in late November, is announced.
A. Qualification for applicants
Applicants must fulfil all conditions below.
(1) An excellent student who has passed or applied for the entrance examination for the Global Technology Architects Course (GAC) and is supposed to enroll at TUT in April 2018 as a 1st year student.
(2) A candidate must hold a nationality that has formal diplomatic relations with the Japanese government as of April 1, 2018.
(3) A candidate must be born after April 2, 1993, in principle.
(4) A candidate must be mentally and physically healthy enough to study in Japan.
(5) A candidate must be able to arrive at TUT by the date designated by the university in April, 2018, in principle.
(6) A candidate must hold a “Student” visa by April 1, 2018, in principle.
(7) A candidate must have grade point average of 2.50 or above out of 3.00 in the last year of study calculated based on MEXT’s evaluation scale mentioned in the final page and is expected to maintain the same academic standards during the period of the scholarship, in principle.
(8) The selected candidate must obtain a "Student (留学)” visa prior to arrival in Japan. (A candidate who changes the visa status to any status other than "Student" after his/her arrival in Japan will immediately lose their status as a MEXT scholarship student.)
(9) MEXT scholarship students must contribute to internationalization in Japan by participating in various activities around Toyohashi during their stay in Japan as well as to deepen the mutual understanding of both Japan and their home country. They also must keep in contact with Toyohashi University of Technology after their graduation, by answering surveys and cooperating in various activities held by Japanese diplomatic missions abroad or other agencies.
Applicants who meet any or all of the following conditions are not eligible. If identified after acceptance of the scholarship grantees, the applicants must withdraw from the scholarship.
1. If an applicant is a service member or a civilian employee registered on the active military list at the time of their arrival in Japan;.
2. Those who have no hope of graduating from the university in the standard years (except for one who takes leave of absence for unavoidable reasons).
3. Those who are receiving other scholarships (including the scholarship given by Japanese government (MEXT), Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), their foreign government or other foundations).
B. Number of applicants TUT recommends 5 students*
*Student who is not selected as a MEXT scholarship candidate may also apply for MEXT’s Honor’s scholarship with the same application documents. Please refer to the details of the Honor’s scholarship in another guide.
C. Grants:
Admission Fee: Exempt (paid by TUT) Tuition: Exempt (paid by TUT) Travel Allowance: N/A
Monthly Allowance: 117,000 yen
Period of Scholarship: 1 year*, from April 2018 until March 2019
*Students with outstanding academic results may be approved for another year(s).
Scholarship will be cancelled in the following cases in principle. Recipients may be ordered to return the grant if he/she receives scholarship in spite of fitting the following condition(s). In addition, the scholarship will not be offered when a leave of absence is taken or the student has been absent for long period.
1. If any portion of the recipient’s application documents is found to be falsely stated.
2. If a recipient is in breach of their pledge made to the Minister of MEXT.
3. If a recipient violates Japanese laws and is sentenced to one year or more period in prison.
4. If a recipient is subjected to a disciplinary action taken by TUT, such as expulsion or removal from the register.
5. If it is determined that a recipient will not be able to complete their course within the standard years required for graduation due to their poor academic achievement or suspension.
6. If a recipient leaves the host university or transfers to another school.
7. If the recipient’s visa status is no longer “Student (留学)”.
8. If the recipient receives other scholarship.
9. If Toyohashi University of Technology is no longer a member of the Top Global University Project or when the project itself is suspended.
D. Required documents
1. TUT Application for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for April 2018 with photo attached (JPG image is acceptable).
2. Study plan or research plan at Toyohashi University of Technology
3. Recommendation letter from the school where the applicants studies have been completed or where the applicant is currently enrolled*
4. Transcript (academic record)*
5. Certificate of language proficiency (Score of language proficiency test such as TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, or Japanese Language Proficiency Test, etc.)*
*Upon your acknowledgement, we may use the ones you submitted for the GAC Entrance Examination for documents 3, 4 and 5. In this case, applicant does not have to doubly submit the documents 3, 4 and 5 for this scholarship application.
E. Submission period of application
From Friday, 1 December, 2017 until Tuesday 26 December, 2017 (17:00, Japan time)*
*Both by email and by postal mail.
F. Important notes
1. Application forms should be downloaded from the TUT website.
2. Application documents must be English or Japanese. If certificate(s) or other document is issued in another language, a translation must be attached.
3. Application documents should be sent by Email first, then sent by postal mail.
4. TUT will not accept any application after the deadline, nor will it accept incomplete applications.
5. Application documents once received cannot be returned.
6. TUT will not answer any inquiries relating to the selection process.
7. The English texts attached to the Application Guideline and the Application Form are for convenience only. The Japanese versions of the Application Guideline and the Application Form take precedence, and any English expressions do not change the Japanese content; if you have any questions about the content of the written text, you should inquire at the university.
