1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Section One: Language Training
Learning sentence patterns and words which are frequently used in oral communication to improve students’ communication ability and cultural understanding.
Section Two: Language Practice
As the most impressive section of this course, students have the chance to do social research, interview locals and even the opportunity to enter competitions in order to practice their oral language skills.
Section Three: Culture Classes
Learning Chinese painting, calligraphy, Tai-Chi, paper-cutting, etc.
Section Four: Culture Tours
Visiting Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province and Jingpo Lake in Heilongjiang Province

When students finish their final test, they will be granted a Certificate and 2 credits in Chinese Language and Culture Immersion Course.
2. FEES
Tuition Fee: ¥1600 RMB
Accommodation Fee: ¥525 RMB
Culture Tour Fee: ¥1200 RMB
Insurance Fee: ¥120 RMB
Transportation, meals and daily life cost students are responsible for by themselves.
3. QUOTA
No limit for self-paying students
Sister Universities: have a 2-student quota. The students’ tuition fee, accommodation fee, culture tour fee and insurance fees are completely covered.
4. QUALIFICATION
Academic excellence in their undergraduate programs for students from Sister Universities.
Must have at least an HSK level 4(or above), or sophomore or above majoring in Chinese Language.
5 APPLICATION METHOD
Send your nomination list to [email protected] before May 30.
Students must finish the online application before June 5.

7 ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Arrival pick-up time: 10:00-20:30, June 30, 2019 at Changchun Longjia International Airport
Please apply for the pick-up services on-line (studyatnenu.nenu.edu.cn) before June 25.
If you arrive in Changchun during another time, please come to the campus by yourself. If you come to the campus on your own, please use the address below.

Attention: please take a licensed taxi and request a receipt（发票 fā piào）. This is in case it is necessary to contact the driver, if by accident you left any personal belongings in the taxi.
Airport drop-off service
On July 16, 2018, NENU will provide Changchun airport drop-off service. The bus will leave the campus on 8:00 and 12:00. Please arrange your flight times accordingly. Keep in mind it takes one hour from the campus to the airport.
8 REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

9 ACCOMMODATION
Each accommodation is a suite-styled apartment for 4 people with a shared bathroom and shower. Every room comes equipped with a single bed, quilt, mattress, pillow, desk,
closet, bookshelf, chair and free Wi-Fi. There is laundry room on every floor.
Public Common Areas Include: TV and TV stand, sofa, hot water heater, waste basket and mirror.
10 VISA
It is the responsibility of each participant to prepare his or her own one-month tourist visa to enter China.

12 HELPFUL TIPS
1) After registration, NENU will help participants apply for a temporary meal card to use at the cafeterias. On average, it costs 20-30 RMB per day for meals on campus.
2) It is strongly recommended to exchange certain amount of cash before entering the country.
3) The average temperature for Changchun in July ranges from a low of 19℃ to a high of 28℃. It can get quite cold at night, so make sure to pack thicker outerwear for going out.
4) China’s electric standard is 220V and the electrical outlets are comparable to the following
picture: If necessary, prepare adapters and plugs ahead of time.
5) Keep in mind there are only a handful of restaurants and one supermarket which accept international credit cards.
6) Tap water is not drinkable. It must be boiled before being used.
7) We recommended to install WeChat in before arriving.
