THE EPIC AS AN ETHNO-GLOBALIZING GENRE OF THE NATIONAL MEMORY (based on the West Azerbaijani folklore). This article deals with a research of epics, their genre-specificity and regional identity in the whole of Azerbaijan and the western Azerbaijan region and special attention has been paid to the issue of historicism of epics. The fragments contained in the epic "Book of Dede Gorgud" which have a special place in the epic traditions of Azerbaijan and which are directly related to the territory of West Azerbaijan, have been comprehensively considered and the epic improvisation of the empirical history were comparatively analyzed.

According to the new hermeneutics, interpretation becomes more dynamic, as it relies on the concept of openness of the text. An enormous role in the interpretation of the artistic text is played by the reconstruction of the historical and cultural environment in which the author was absorbed.
