Many phrasal verbs have meanings that are impossible to deduce from the values of its components. The aim of the lecture is to motivate students to use phrasal verbs more often and in the right context. At the end of the lecture, we present the results of the semantic analysis of phrasal verbs randomly selected from some modern novels.
English phrasal verbs are rather complicated linguistic structures consisting of verbs and prepositions or adverbs. Intransitive verbs are inseparable by definition, as they have no complement at all. Phrasal verbs are considered "semicompounds" or sometimes even "single units in grammar".
Phrasal verbs are very important in the English language because they are used in everyday English. Non-compositional phrasal verbs belong to the idiomatic variety as part of the speaker's mental lexicon.

These difficulties arise not only from the lack of knowledge of the language, but also from the lack of knowledge of the translator in the field of economics. Economic discourse is one of the discourse types based on certain economic ideas (eg bankruptcy, fraud, tax) [4]. It includes a wide variety of different sectors of the economy (entrepreneurship, marketing, trade relations, management, etc.).
A specialist who carries out such a translation must not only be fluent in the language, but also know the fundamentals of the economy. That is why the highly qualified specialists of the country are busy with it. The main task of translating economic texts and documents is to convey the most accurate and correct translation, taking into account the available features in the economic dictionary of different countries of the world.
The discrepancy between the grammatical forms of one of the components of the comparable expressions SL (source language) and TL (translation language). Thus, difficulties in the translation of financial terms, texts and documents arise for the translator due to insufficient knowledge in the financial field, and not as a result of a lack of knowledge of the language. The special feature of translating economic texts is the knowledge of not only a foreign language, but also a specialist must have knowledge in economics.
