Optimization of the reagent purification process of the titanium - magnesium production industrial wastewater.

General description

Dissertation is devoted to the problem of purification of titanium- magnesium production wastewater, in particular the method of reagent purification. Object of research are wastewater and waste water sediment of titanium-magnesium production at the example of the enterprise of "UK TMP"

Relevance of research

Analysis of the negative influence of titanium and magnesium production on the environment, showed that the main source of environmental burden businesses are formed by industrial wastewater, that are characterized by complex chemical composition. Reducing the environmental load of titanium-magnesium production facilities on the hydrosphere is an urgent environmental and technological problem that requires solutions. The existing wastewater treatment reagent technologies do not allow to achieve the required degree of demineralization, which makes it necessary to find ways to optimize reagent purification of the wastewater.

To achieve this goal it was necessary to solve the following problems:

1. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the ecological and technological conditions of formation and purification of titanium-magnesium production’s wastewater.

2. Make theoretical and experimental substantiation of a choice of technological parameters of the process of reagent purification.

3. Develop technical solutions to reduce suspended solids in wastewater and reduce the volume of sludge produced, determine optimal process parameters.

Analysis methods

Research carried out by using modern physical and chemical analysis techniques: inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

Scientific novelty.

- Identified the regularities of chemical treatment of titanium-magnesium production wastewater and found optimal pH of the process.

- The first time the use of flocculants Magnafloc-10 (Switzerland, the firm CibaSpecialityChemicals) and Flopam (France, the firm SNFFloergerr) in the reagent treatment of industrial waste titanium and magnesium production.

The main points of assertion.

- The results of laboratory research of the process of titanium and magnesium production industrial wastewater reagent purification.

- The results of studies of the effect on various brands of industrial wastewater flocculants.

Practical significance.

It explains the introduction of the filtering, which will reduce the content of suspended solids in wastewater and reduce the amount of sediment formed
