One of my favorite writers Neil Gaiman wrote in his novel "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" a phrase that goes like this: "I loved that place as if it were a part of me, and maybe, in some ways, it was." The novel explored the complexities of emotions and how they were linked to the perceptual experiences we have with the physical space around us.BMW built a model of the car to represent what it might look like in reality.

A ground-breaking and enlightening exploration of the structures that elevate architecture to spirituality, Sacred Spaces showcases 30 of the most breathtaking, innovative, iconic and undiscovered examples of contemporary religious architecture, including work by renowned architects alongside emerging designers. Spanning all major religions and places of worship from intimate, reflective chapels and cemeteries to dramatic cathedrals and memorials, Sacred Spaces documents each project with lavishly in-depth photographs, drawings and texts by James Pallister that provide a contemporary historical context.

As a result, the new design of the park emphasizes the garden experience by creating a walkway through the landscape that will create some pocket spaces for different photo angles, with a mix of shrubs, hedges and trees to create a lush foreground. The gymnasium was then moved to the garden, allowing the building to blend in with the surroundings and blurring the boundary between inside and outside. There are two main intentions we tried to achieve: increasing the accessibility of the building and creating an iconic architecture on the site. The concept of using the figure of widely spread butterfly wings has resulted in multiple connections with both building circulation and environmental involvement.

Mimicking the characteristics of a butterfly, the building stands very delicately in the garden, becoming an iconic figure among the green landscape. The exterior of the building is painted white to blend in with the surrounding buildings, while grass and ventilation blocks are used to enhance natural lighting and ventilation.

STATE LIBRARY

The overall design concept of the library is to create spaces that invite others to participate and cherish. There is also another entrance on the lower ground level, from the open parking area at the eastern corner of the building. The reading areas are open plan, so visitors can enjoy both views of the lake and the atrium.

The library is equipped with advanced digital facilities with easy access to the internet. There is a mini pedestrian bridge on the west side of the main library building that connects to the circular open-air café.

The thoughtful designer has always worked in accordance with social and behavioral scientists. From the above 16 case study conclusions, there are some common concepts that would be useful to define the pedestrian architecture process. In any case, as already mentioned, we need to study and learn to achieve a balance of measures that would lead to the optimization of the above four concepts for the implementation of pedestrian architecture as a catalyst for the revitalization of the city.

This concept deals with the sense of belonging through the design of the threshold experience and with the sense of visual enclosure. It deals with the ability of residents to participate in the social life of the city.

WHAT IS A GOOD FLOOr PLAN?

The accompanying NPYDA Bangkok Learning Program saw three renowned captains in the architecture industry – Paul Noritaka Tange (Japan), Ar Serina Hijjas (Malaysia) and Amata Luphaiboon (Thailand) – share their insights with the finalists and an audience of over 200 students and inducers share - try professionals from all over Asia. The Learning Program, held at the prestigious Chulalongkorn University, kicked off with keynote speaker Paul Tange, President of Tange Associates and son of renowned architect. He also shared his design concept and rationale for one of his latest projects, the Aquatics Center for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, reviving the same passion as his father, the late Kenzo Tange, who built the National Gymnasium for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics over 50 designed. years back.

In addition to the sharing by the three guest speakers, the students were treated to a coaching session by the Vice Dean and Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University. Wee Siew Kim, Group CEO of Nippon Paint SEA Group said: “I trust that the experience gained from NPYDA's learning program has had a positive impact on all young designers from Asia as it includes a thoughtful platform that leverages the experience of NPYDA integrates.

NIPPON PAINT YOuNG DESIGNEr AWArD 2015

Participants had the opportunity to experience a guided tour of Bangkok to visit some of the capital's iconic buildings, including the Bangkok Grand Palace, Vimanmek Palace and Wat Ratchanatdaram, best known for the Loha Prasat, a multi-storied structure with 37 metal pinnacles representing the 37 virtues of the direction enlightenment, of which the gold-colored peaks were coated with Nippon paint. There is an emerging geography of social activism that too often expands architecture's elite client base. This shift has brought an increasing role and responsibility for the architect as one of the collaborators among urban and community planners, historians, landscape architects, environmental designers and social entrepreneurs.

To reflect and act on this shift, architecture schools have explored community-oriented projects that contribute to communities and the public as one of the key areas of design. The increasing importance of humanity led to an increasing emphasis on architecture for the common good – pro bono architecture, but also on community-oriented architecture.

Architecture has been involved in the discourse of identity, cultural representation and appropriations since the 1970s due to the nation-building drive pursued by the forces of globalization. The notion of 'community' is a rich context for exploring design vis a vis architectural explorations for marginalized communities, communities displaced by human and natural disasters, intercultural communities and indigenous communities, among others. 15 Stories of Architects Working After Disaster by Ester Charlesworth, Design Like You Give a Damn: Building Change from the Ground Up by Kate Stohr and Cameron Sinclair, and Small Scale, Big Change: New Architectures of Social Engagement by Andres Lepik.

From innovations in building materials, participatory design approaches to design-and-build programs, the core message saw a fundamental return to architecture for humanity. Projects such as schools, community centers, parks, transportation hubs, housing, marketplaces and shopping centers are adopting new design methods and approaches that require a rethink of the conduct of design studies in architecture schools.
