ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Entry requirements for Masters programme

Applicants for Masters Degree programme shall have the following qualifications:

(a) Bachelor Degree with good Cumulative Grade Pointer Average (CGPA) from a University or any higher learning institution recognised by the Senate; or

(b) Degree in Medical or Dentistry from a University or any higher learning institution; or degree equivalent thereto from any institution recognised by the Senate; or

(c) other qualifications recognised by the Senate obtained by accreditation of learning based on prior experience (APEL - Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) or by recognition of prior learning (RPL – Recognition of Prior Learning)

(d) fulfils other conditions specified by the programme (if relevant).

Entry requirements for Doctorate programme

Applicants for Doctorate programme shall have the following qualifications:

(a) Masters Degree from a University or any higher learning institution recognised by the Senate; or (b) other qualifications equivalent to Masters Degree and having other qualifications or experience

recognised by the Senate; or

a. currently attending Masters programme under subregulation 6(1)(a) full time at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and certified by the Faculty Graduate Study Committee/Graduate Management Centre to change status to Doctorate Programme with the approval of Dean of Faculty/Director of Institute; or (d) Bachelor Degree by obtaining excellent results from a University or any higher learning institution

recognised by the Senate; or

(d) other qualifications recognised by the Senate obtained by accreditation of learning based on prior experience (APEL - Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) or by recognition of prior learning (RPL – Recognition of Prior Learning); and

(e) fulfils other conditions specified by the programme (if relevant).

ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS

1. An international candidate is required to fulfill the English Language proficiency requirements as follows:

a. Obtained TOEFL (550), IELTS (6) or MUET (4) results which fulfil the score or minimum band requirements prescribed by the programme; or

b. For certain programmes, a candidate is required to sit for an English Proficiency Test (EPT) and if

he/she fails to achieve the level specified by the programme, the candidate is required to attend and

pass the English Proficiency Module (EPM) in a maximum period of two (2) semesters before he is

allowed to register for the study programme. The candidate shall register as a Non Graduating

Student.
