MoU to develop bamboo industry

KUALA LUMPUR: Kanger Inter national Bhdhad signed a mem­

orandum of understanding (MoU) with Forest Research In­

stitute Malaysia (Frim) to jointly develop the Malaysian bamboo industry. Kanger said it would work together with Frim in terms of research and development, and manufacturing and produc­

tion of bamboo products, and al­

so jointly establish a bamboo plantation in Malaysia. "Under the MoU, the parties will focus on production of high value bamboo products and other bamboo products suitable for structural

use and construction materials,"

said Kanger.
