The Core Expert Meeting on Comparative Studies for the Management of Purse Seine Fisheries in the Southeast Asian Region was organized by SEAFDEC/MFRDMD at Furama Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 9 to 11 August 2016. It highlighted that the Thai Royal Regulation on Fisheries have been used in the management of the purse seine fishery. Local knowledge of the small pelagic fish Mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) in Cambodia indicates that the peak spawning season is in January and Mucha. Catch composition in Tomnob Ro Lork (Sihanoukvill) from June to December 2003-2004 showed that mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) was the most dominant species at 86%, dominated by Decapterus muruadsi (2%) and other species at 12% of the total catches. Strengthen knowledge-based fisheries development by strengthening national capacity in data collection.

Malaysia's marine fishing areas can be divided into several sub-fishing areas (the west (Straits of Malacca) and east coast (South China Sea) of Pen Malaysia, Sarawak (South China Sea) and Sabah waters, which include the South China Sea on the west coast and the Sulu and Celebes Seas on the east coast.

Status of pelagic fish stock

South China Sea area, but in the Southern sub-area, spawning occurs only once a year. In the northern subzone, the spawning season occurred from May to June and from July to September. In the waters of the South China Sea of the country, the production of scraps is much higher and has reached 32% of the total of small ponds.

Tagging program for economically important pelagic species in the South China Sea and Andaman Sea under the Japan Trust Fund II program for four small pelagic species including Japanese Scad, -(SEAFDEC/MFRDMD) since 2007 -2011. Unfortunately, the recovery of tagged fish between 2008 and 2011 was very poor, with a total of only 351 fish, including 108 D. Commercial fishing gear: (trawl and purse seine) is prohibited from fishing in the area < 5 (8 ) nm from the coastline (Zone A), except for anchovy purse seines.

For each tonnage, the vessel is allowed to operate within a specified fishing area, such as for the tonnage groups of. Most of the FADs are maintained and some of the owners employed fishermen to look after their FADs to prevent theft or encroachment by other fishermen. Although some of the pelagic species are very prolific, the stock may be overfished and a more detailed assessment is needed and should be carried out regularly.

Introduction

Purse seine Fisheries in the Philippines

A typical ring net equipment has a length of approximately 300 meters and a net depth of 100 meters, consisting of braided polyamide (PA) materials with mesh sizes of 27 mm and 23 mm in the bumper. Catch per unit effort (kg/day/boat) of ring net Sindangan and Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte. FAO 245 “Regulation on purse seine operations with group tuna on the high seas, bag number 1 as special management area”.

Restricted access to High Seas Pocket 1 as a conservation measure to reduce efforts in Philippine waters. 10654: Commercial purse seiners and purse seines are prohibited in municipal waters, however, small and medium commercial purse seines and purse seines may be permitted to operate within 10.1 to 15 kilometers at a depth of 7 fathoms. 236: Rules and regulations of purse seiners and purse seines using fish aggregating devices (FADs) during the FAD closure period as measures to comply with WCPFC CMM 2008-01 (depth limit up to 115 fathoms and fishery observers in board).

244: National Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) Management Policy (BFAR may assign individual fishing enterprises to deploy up to 40 FADs for each licensed seine or purse seiner. Registration of commercial fishing vessels is mandated by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) ) while registration of municipal fishing vessels are delegated to the local government units (LGUs). Licensing of commercial fishing vessels is mandated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, while licensing of municipal fishing vessels is the authority of the local government units (LGUs). ) or the municipality/city.

Summary catch per unit effort (kg/day) of the different fishing gears sampled in Dipolog and Sindangan Bay, Zamboanga Del Norte. To establish a closed season for the conservation of sardines, herring and mackerel in the Visayan Sea from November 15 to February 15 of each year. National Fisheries Research and Development Institute - Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources August 9-11, 2016, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The port-in-port-out control center, VMS and the at-sea inspection are used to monitor, control and monitor the activities of the ships.

The Purse Seine Fisheries in Viet Nam

Has two groups: Searching for purse seine to catch small pelagic fish and to catch tuna. The seiners must have powerful engines of a size suitable for operating in the sea fishing grounds. Fishing yield of purse seiners in Vietnam during the Gulf of Tonkin and in the southeast was reduced, while the central waters and southwest were increased.

Thank you!

Relationships between common biological reference points used as thresholds and objectives of fisheries management strategies.

The percentage will vary depending on the nature of the species and ideally be identified by species. If fishing is carried out in the same location, the CPUE (Stock Index) should be the same. Analyze the result using BRP to see if the production model applies to the mixed model.
