To explore scientific knowledge

Then………….

How to disseminates knowledge among the scientific community?

Must have to publish in quality journals

Scientific knowledge significance in

economy

IMPACTFUL JOURNALS (WOS)

• Top scientific journal ranking as I found in the google and Scopus

database, there is some variations. The impact of the journal, h index and interdisciplinary approaches a few journals are there; though most of the journals are very specific fields.

• 1. Ca-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians 2. MMWR Recommendations and Reports   3. Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology

• 4. Quarterly Journal of Economics 5. Nature Reviews

(7)

IMPACTFUL JOURNALS (H-INDEX )

• 1.Nature 2.The New England Journal of Medicine 3.Science 4.The Lancet .IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition 6.Advanced Materials

7.Nature Communications 9.Chemical Reviews 10.Chemical Society reviews

• Both groups have their excellence for the benefit of society and nature as a whole.

• Quality evaluation purpose I think most specific journals are most significant because of their review and editorial process and selection of paper for

publications but citation aspect interdisciplinary journal are very significant.

(8)

GLOBAL RANKING

(9)

PIONEER IN R&D

(10)

DIVERSITY AND INTERDISCIPLINARY

Diversity is the co-occurrence of several distinct topics or disciplines

-three key properties: variety, disparity and balance

Interdisciplinary is when those strands are brought together in innovative research that makes a new thread

-Nano sciences

(11)

INDEXING A GLOBAL DIVERSITY

In 1981 there were 614,608 articles and reviews (academic research papers) in the Web of Science.

This annual count of papers rose to exceed one million for 1994, two million for 2011 and reached 2,622,355 for 2020

Database expanded in Engineering and technology, from 8.4% in 1981 to 17.1%

The biggest relative growth is in Nano sciences

Environmental (5.1 to 8.6%) and Mathematical sciences (3.2 to

4.1%).

(12)

PUBLICATIONS BENEFIT AS GOOD QUALITY JOURNAL

Reputation of authors

Reputation of faculty /institute

Country reputation

Your research recognition to the international community

Your degree confirmation

Your advance education or research

confirmation

(13)

RESEARCH TOPIC SELECTION IS THE KEY

(14)
(15)

The key selection

for

success

(16)

START WITH A GOOD SCIENTIFIC ARGUMENT

Choice a topic --- your research area

Find the research gap --- how ?

Through proper literature review

In this stage

- very critical thinking

(17)
(18)

WRITING AND ITS STEPS?

Publication is an art

Both institute

and supervisor

are intending to

publish student

quality work

(19)

REVIEW PAPER WRITING

Why want to write—decide first

Review critically other researchers work

It’s a story talking; focus the key development

Potential industrial application and deliver its further unsolved issues

Better to limit to 10,000 words and plain text about 35 pages

5-10 Tables & Figures

References <100, references in most relevant work.

Context based literature search from search engine

(20)

OUT LINE OF WRITING - REVIEW PAPER

• Reviews are usually published by experts in the field, however a typical review paper writing pathway:

Define a topic and audience

Search and re-search the literature

Take notes while reading

Choose the type of review you would like to write

Keep the review focused, but make it of broad interest

Be critical and consistent

Find a logical structure

Be up-to-date, but do not forget older studies and your own

(21)

OUT LINE OF WRITING - RESEARCH PAPER

• a typical research paper structure that commonly includes:

 a title page

 an abstract

 an introduction

 a methodology section

 findings/results

 discussion

 conclusion

(22)

HOW TO ATTRACT READER?

Graphical abstract that shows concise overall picture of your work

Highlights are marking significance of your work

Keywords are important for searching

(23)

HOW TO ATTRACT READERS CONTD…

Use catchy words in title as informative and concise

It must focus the main issue

Abstract should contain sufficient information for the readers

Make abstract interesting and understandable

Make it accurate and specific in between 100 -200 words

It must contain background, scope and approach as well as

key findings

(24)
(25)

HOW TO ATTRACT READERS CONTD…

In introduction--why the topic is important in present context ?

Address the problem

Identify the solutions and limitations

State your objectives to solve the problem

It must be covered in depth

Compare published results and cite them

Conclusion isn’t a summary rather summarization of discussed items

Describe future directions, including your

opinions

(26)

WHAT EDITORS WANT: A GUIDE TO WRITING IMP ACTFUL SCIENCE

PAPERS

WHAT IS THE KEY ELEMENT THAT WILL MAKE MY PAPER IMPACTFUL?

- TO BE IMPACTFUL, PAPERS MUST COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY.

HOW CAN I STRUCTURE MY PAPER FOR IMPACT?

- PUT WHAT INTERESTS THE READERS UP FRONT

- STRUCTURE YOUR ABSTRACT TO ‘NON-SPECIALIST’ READERS.

(27)

WHAT DO EDITORS WANT AND WHERE DO THEY LOOK FOR IT IN PAPER?

MIND THE GAP IS THE KEY !

MAKE THE NEW ELEMENT OF YOUR PAPER

EASY TO FIND THE ELEMENT

PROVIDE CONTEXT PROPERLY

STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RESULT

(28)

DIFFERENT AREA - DIVERSE KNOWLEDGE: WHAT ARE THE COMMON?

What you are going to present?

How logical and scientific are ?

How much impressive?

How skillfully you are presenting it?

How much it is focused?

How critically you are analyzing it?

(29)

WHAT ARE THE MAIN FAILURE

POINTS OF JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS?

Research gap identified is unclear and weak originality

The hypothesis and methodologies are not adequately addressed

  Connection between given state of the art and the structure itself

Abstract and conclusion aren’t fit in contents

Explanations aren’t bringing into a logical context

No guide of readers through your tasks and interest

No definite conclusion from the conducted study

Amount of information putted in one sentence isn’t

meaningful

(30)
