Unimas-Medic opens second medical clinic
KUCHING: Unimas-Medic Sdn Bhd (Unimas-Medic), a subsidi- ary of Sebayor Holdings Sdn Bhd, has set up another clinic in an effort to extend its daily medical services to the public.
Klinik Unimas Sebayor, loca- ted at Taman Desa Ilmu near Unimas - or Universiti Malaysia Sarawak - in Kota Samarahan, would add to Unimas-Medic's another existing clinic in the city.
Sebayor Holdings' chairman Datuk Peter Minos (pic) said the
new clinic would be a full-fledged daily medi- cal clinic comprising two doctor's consultation
rooms, an in-house pharmacy and a treament room for partial emergency cases.
He said cases requiring specialist attention and advanced examinations such as blood
tests, ultrasound and X-ray checks could be referred to Sebayor Medical Centre near Green Road, or to other government and private hospitals.
He said its clinic in Kuching and Kota Samarahan was open to the public, not just for Unimas staff and students.
"Our charges are more or less the same with other gene- ral practitioners' clinics in
Kuching.
"Currently, we operate from 9am to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, " he said.
The clinic is closed every Sunday and public holidays.
Unimas vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Khairuddin Abd Hamid, who offici- ated at the opening ceremony yesterday, reminded staff of both clinics to give their most excellent services to every patient.
"I'm very concerned about the good name and integrity of the university.
'Thefere, it is important that those of you who work in the clinic to do your best to uphold the good name and integrity of Unimas, " he said.
