A project thesis submitted to the Business Infonnation Program Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS as partial fulfillment of the requirement for. In higher education, knowledge sharing has increased the students' opportunities to exchange ideas among themselves. Project-based course is the course that requires the students to do a project that will be evaluated based on the result of the project. Two project-based courses are offered for the final.
The purpose of the survey is to identify the challenges and experiences the students encountered. Moreover, it will improvise the status of the project with the help of notes and recommendations given by lecturers. Project-based course is the course where the students will be evaluated based on the outcome of the entire project.
The idea for implementing the project requires students to gather additional information to solve the problems. Sharing knowledge about the ideas of the project is more guiding.
Objectives
Individual student perspectives on knowledge sharing practices will be discussed further in the next chapter. The purpose of this study is to share the challenges and experiences among students during the realization of the project. be designed to enable students to gather all information and to circulate information with other students. According to the study done by Chi-Lung LEE et al. 2010), is an implementation of project-based knowledge management, known as Project-Based Knowledge Management Systern for Schools (PKMSS). The system based on some findings found in the knowledge management transfer process proposed by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995) and various studies of the knowledge management process (e.g. 9., Shin, Holden and Schmidt, 2001 ; Nissen and Espino, 2000; Tiwana, 2002; Metariotis et al., 2003, etc.) to design a process-based knowledge management model that meets the needs of the high school level. Therefore, the portal address works based on each concept found in knowledge management processes. First, one of the main functions called knowledge generation and acquisition, which is in this function, the portal will enable the participants to generate new knowledge to be shared in the portal. The information will be documented from any tacit knowledge captured and stored in the portal for the reference or views of others. Secondly, the second function is the sharing and communication of knowledge, where once the knowledge is captured and documented, there will be a session of sharing the resulting information and at the same time establishing communication between the participants in the portal. Intemalization and socialization of knowledge carried out at this stage, where participants will participate in sharing and exchanging knowledge on the portal. The portal must be monitored by the person responsible for any changes to the portal. Third, this is the stage where all the documents shared on the portal are collected and combined to be used. This fic is more geared towards exchanging the idea and opinions about the selected proposed idea. This portal has successfully combined all the basic processes of knowledge sharing and this can lead to the portal being the alternative to sharing knowledge virtually. In this portal concept, the person who performs the sharing activities is the focal person and responsible for observing the flow of the portal. One of the main goals of development is to overcome the limitation of the culture of knowledge exchange among students. The portal being developed can become one of the main sources of information and increase the efficiency and productivity of the faculty by eliminating manual and offline knowledge sharing. Using JOOMLE as an open source tool, the portal will be built in such a way as to encourage the exchange of knowledge about teaching methods and improve the level of communication between employees. Planning is a process that took place in the early stage of the project and includes planning the overall project ideas, project title, supervisor, literature review, Gantt chart and methods for the data collection process. Therefore, after finalizing the ideas and title of the project, with the approval of the supreme authorities, a Gantt chart is prepared. The surveys also collected information from students who had previously registered for the course. In the last section, which is the technological platform, the students required comments on the frrnctionalities that will be implemented and any further suggestions for improving the portal. The surveys will be distributed for two weeks to obtain feedback from respondents. Feedback and comments from respondents will be reviewed to improve the implementation of the portal. Based on the results of the surveys, a pie chart and statistics will be prepared based on the results of the surveys. The key result points will be taken from the surveys and will be the main indicators for the implementation of the project. The analysis process also includes transforming the data into a user class diagram and a class diagram. The result of the analysis will be further discussed in the next chapter, Result and Discussion. It is the process of preparing the architectural design of the project based on the obtained result using the UML diagram to provide the elements for it. The conclusion can be drawn from the general overview of the research that the implementation of knowledge exchange between students in the TTP and Fyp course is required. However, if students are willing to share the information obtained with others, people will be informed about the style and expectations of the supervisors and will help the student in writing the report. As a result, a portal will be created specifically for students currently receiving FYP or TTP projects. It will be implemented to facilitate students to share some tips or informative information about the project, lecturer, instructions, lecturer's supervision style and other matters related to the course or as a reference for future students enrolled in this course. CHAPTER 4 There are some models of the portals derived from the same concept of the models. Students can publish any topics or problems that the students are willing to share and discuss in the portal about the project. The knowledge that the students get from the lecturers or any readings can also be written in the portal. The students will exchange the ideas through the Discussion Forums site, where students can participate in expressing opinions or sharing experiences regarding issues covered during the course. The information collected by the students through the portal can be used by the students to perform the analysis and create the new project or make some changes and improvements to the existing project. The list of projects mentioned in the portal will help the students get an overview idea for the project. The portal will be the place where all the required documentation for the two courses will be provided with the permission of the appropriate persons. The documentation that is approved will be published on the portal by the system administrator. The result of the analyzed surveys based on the result and feedback from the surveys that are distributed. There are several important issues that are highlighted in each section of the survey questionnaire. For each rating scale a value will be shown used to obtain the total nqmber value for each section. Therefore, the implementation of the portal will focus more on documents related to the Writing Report and project collection ideas. Apart from that, there are students who collect the information from the internet and implement the project they do during the internship. Students needed extra information about these activities to ensure that students get the right direction in solving the problem and providing the best solution. From the Discussion Forums activities, students can share the information with others and give their opinions about other's problem and apply knowledge sharing practices in this portal. Diagrams CHAPTER 5 In conclusion, this study will help the student solve the problem she is facing by collecting all the information about these two courses into a single platform that integrates all the information called Project Based Course Portal for CIS Deparment. The portal allows students to exchange and share ideas about the other's project in the context of knowledge sharing practices. It is the other alternatives that the students can use to gather information about these two courses. With the implementation of the portal, it can help and reduce the workload of the students in gathering information about the courses. Putal gives snrdeirts access to two courses, which basically requires the students to come out with 6c. 34;Using Corporate Knowledge Management Practices in Higher Education.” In Bernbom, Gerald, editor, Information Alchemy: The Art and Science of Knowledge Management.
