INTRODUCTION

A

ccurate data on total hydrocrabon content in water and sediment are important in the interpretation of the actual status of an aquatic environment. But the data obtained is as good as the samples where they are derived from.

Therefore, a good water and sediment samplings and analysis techniques are important to ensure the data obtained were reliable.

A workshop will be conducted by the Centre for Water Research & Analysis (ALIR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE

The aim of this workshop is to provide basic training to laboratory personal on how to perform water and sediment samplings and analysis for total hydrocarbon content. The course not only provides basic understanding of both water and sediment sampling and their analysis through a series of lectures, but also includes hands-on training in the technique of sampling in the field as well as analysis in the laboratory.

WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR

The instructors of this workshop will include the following educators with extensive experience in field related to water and sediment analysis.

•Prof. Dr. Md Pauzi Abdullah, PhD (Wales), AMIC, ANALIS

•Associate Prof. Dr. Mohd Rozali Othman, Phd.

ANALIS, A&WWM
