Course Description
We are pleased to announce the Nutrition
Care Process (NCP) Workshop jointly organized by the Dietetics Programs of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Wayne State University. Ms Reinhard, our Lead Faculty will share NCP as it is taught in the American Curriculum. The Workshop aims to help Dietitians gain insights into NCP applications in clinical practice keeping in
mind the dual roles of training and education.
The developmental process of NCP will be discussed through each of the four steps:
(i) Nutrition Assessment, (ii) Nutrition Diagnosis, (iii) Nutrition Intervention, (iv) Monitoring & Evaluation.
In addition to didactic presentation, participants will work in groups to develop
appropriate PES diagnostic statements and
ADIME. Patient case scenarios from the University of Michigan NCP Development
Team as well as from Malaysian hospitals will be shared.
Who will benefit?
The Malaysian Dietetics Community is
n o w e m b r a c i n g N C P a n d International Dietetics and Nutrition
Terminology (IDNT). Even across Universities educators are absorbing NCP education into clinical teaching.
UKM is keen to share our resources with the Dietetic Community particularly all practising dietitians from government or private sectors as well as future dietitians (final years students) to meet this objective.
Our aim is to promote enhancement of teaching
and learning activities required for the integration of NCP and IDNT into education and
clinical dietetics practice.
