For the agency's core program, Mapping and Resource Information, we have continued to update our maps, charts and statistics despite the challenges posed by the current pandemic. We carried out assessment and mapping of the country's environment and natural resources (ENR) through the Resource Assessment and Mapping Program and produced provincial preliminary land classification and land cover maps, coastal resource and ENR maps, and land use map. In August, NAMRIA joined the Department of Foreign Affairs as members of the Philippine delegation to the eleventh session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
We signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the DDB for our institutional support for the implementation of the Philippine Strategy against Illegal Drugs of the Inter-Agency Committee on Illegal Drugs. We also formalized a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Public Works and Highways to share data for networks of continuously operating Reference Stations. We later expanded this to a learning event on starting a career in government service as part of our celebration of the 121st anniversary of the Civil Service of the Philippines.
Finally, NAMRIA has also secured ISO 9001:2015 recertification from 2021 to 2024 after meeting the Agency's Mapping and Geospatial Information Management System Process and Documentation Overall Performance Criteria. We will also adhere to the priority programs of the Philippine government and maintain our role as an active institution. We expect another working year for our agency, as the following programs, activities and projects will be implemented: implementation of national hydrographic surveys, maritime charts, physical oceanographic surveys; providing assistance in the demarcation of the country's marine areas; ongoing topographic base mapping, including the Unified Mapping Project (UMP) and the Philippine Gazetteer Project;.
