Objective

provided; History of service provision)

Sensory attributes of food are very essential parameters to measure and ensure the quality of food, especially among food industries. At the end of the activity, participants are expected to conduct discriminatory, acceptability, and preference tests, as well as be able to analyze data and make conclusions based on the result of the sensory evaluation test.

The seminar-workshop was initially packaged for a particular food industry in 2011. Faculty experts from the Department of Food Science and Chemistry served as the resource persons utilizing the Department’s laboratory facilities.

The Office of Extension and Community Service (OECS) is a unit under the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. As a unit mandated to conduct training, continuing education and community outreach programs, the OECS can serve as a broker, coordinator and organizer of a particular training program in partnership with academic or non-academic units from within or outside the University.

The Department of Food Science and Chemistry (DFSC) is one of the three departments of the College of Science and Mathematics. This is the home unit of the BS Food Technology program of UP Mindanao. DFSC provides the resource persons coming from its roster of faculty experts.
