GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Mt. 21:23-27) The Holy Gospel according to St Matthew
When Jesus had come into the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people approached him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?” Jesus said to them in reply, “I shall ask you one question, and if you answer it for me, then I shall tell you by what authority to do these things.
Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?” They discussed this among themselves and said,
“If we say ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd, for they all regard John as a prophet.” So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.” He himself said to them, “Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
Reflection:
Are you willing to take a stand for the truth, even when it might cost you personally because of opposition or disapproval from others? When we fear the disapproval or rejection of our friends we are tempted to be evasive and to bluff our way to avoid confrontation or trouble. Jesus told his disciples that the truth would make them free - free to think and act according to what they know is right, honest, and good, rather than yield to deception, lies, and evil (John 8:32).
Let us pray:
"Lord, let your light shine in my heart and in my mind that I may grow in understanding the truth of your word and find joy and freedom in living according to it." Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle…Pray for us!
Live Jesus in our Hearts……Forever!

Grade 2 BG 110 Ms. Fe Mando Grade 5 BB 302 Ms. Daycel Martija Grade 3 BB 209 Ms. Lea Camacho Grade 4 BB 311 Ms. Evelyn de Castro What does the word Advent mean?
The word comes from the Latin "adventus," which means "arrival," referring to the coming of the Messiah. While the season clearly deals with the anticipation of Jesus' birth, celebrated on Christmas, it also has certain connotations to the Second Coming, when the Messiah bring salvation and judgment.

5. Be smoke-free. Avoid smoking and secondhand smoke. Smokers have greater health risks because of their tobacco use, but nonsmokers also are at risk when exposed to tobacco smoke.
6. Fasten seat belts while driving or riding in a motor vehicle. Always buckle your children in the car using a child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt according to their height, weight, and age. Buckle up every time, no matter how short the trip and encourage passengers to do the same.
7. Get exams and screenings. Ask your health care provider what exams you need and when to get them.
Update your personal and family history. Get insurance from the Health Insurance Marketplace if you are not insured.
8. Get your vaccinations, which help prevent various diseases and save lives. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine each year. Besides the flu vaccine, adults should get other vaccines too.
