THE HOLY GOSPEL (Lk 21:12-19) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke,
Jesus said to his disciples, “Before the end happens, however, they will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
“You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”
Reflections:
By perseverance you will secure your lives. In this life what count most is not how often we commit mistakes rather what we have learned from our mistakes. Great personalities invented various equipments by their perseverance and ability to bounce back from one mistake to another. When you feel you are not doing well in school, don’t be discourage just keep on studying and give your best on every opportunity that comes your way. If we feel we are not worthy to come to Jesus because of your weaknesses and sins, come anyway to Jesus. He will understand you and forgive your sins. Persevere in prayers for God will certainly grant your request if it will be for your good. Keep on going, do not be discouraged, God loves you so much.
Prayer:
Let us pray,
Lord, enkindle the fire that is within us so that we may do things with vigor and full of energy. Amen St. John Baptist De La Salle…Pray for us! Live Jesus in our hearts…Forever!

WHY DO CATHOLICS HAVE TO ATTEND SUNDAY MASS?
Have you ever been to a wedding? There are a lot of people in the wedding. There is flower girl, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, wedding coordinator, etc. All of these people add to the celebration of the wedding.
However, if they don't come, the wedding would still happen. The only two people needed for a wedding are the bridegroom and the bride. If one of them does not show up, the wedding doesn't happen.
The Bible says that Jesus is the bridegroom and the Church is His bride (Song of Songs, John 3, Revelation). At Mass, we are called to the wedding feast of Heaven where we are united to our bridegroom in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We can always count on the bridegroom showing up. 4. “Each one of us is born for a specific reason and purpose, and each one of us will die when he or she has accomplished whatever was to be accomplished. The in-between depends on our own willingness to make the best of every day, of every moment, of every opportunity. the choice is always yours.”
5. “Redemption is liberation from fear. Look up, fill your breast, lift your head, open your smile, and welcome life.
This is strength of fearlessness and the joy of courage. This is the meaning of redemption. The faculty to stand in confidence before God, and in consequence, before all people and the whole of creation to work in freedom and live with joy”.
6. “When you can't go back, you have to worry only about the best way of moving forward”.
FROM THE OVCAD – INSTITUTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES:
Continuation… Practical Ways to Handle Stress 3. Do what you love.
It’s so much easier to manage pockets of stress when the rest of your life is filled with activities you love. Even if your job is stress central, you can find one hobby or two that enrich your world. What are you passionate about? If you’re not sure, experiment with a variety of activities to find something that’s especially meaningful and fulfilling.
4. Manage your time well.
One of the biggest stressors for many people is lack of time. Their to-do list expands, while time flies. How often have you wished for more hours in the day or heard others lament their lack of time?
We all have the same 168 hours, and yet there are plenty of people who are dedicated parents and full-time employees and who get at least seven hours of sleep a night and lead fulfilling lives.
5. Create a toolbox of techniques.
One stress-shrinking strategy won’t work for all your problems. For instance, while deep breathing is helpful when you’re stuck in traffic or hanging at home, it might not rescue you during a business meeting.
Because stress is complex, what we need is a toolbox that’s full of techniques that we can fit and choose for the stressor in the present moment.
