Today is Day 74 of the now modified enhanced community quarantine.
Today we reflect how many if not all of us have ‘settled ‘on our ECQ routines,
appreciating the good that this pandemic has brought about. For one, the streets are not as choked with vehicles as before, although we are seeing more and more plying the
thoroughfares the past two weeks. Consequently, traffic has been much less clogged and beneath our facial masks, the air we breathe must likely be cleaner. The beaches which we have not been to all this time, must surely be greener and bluer. The birds which we hardly had to time to listen to must be happily chirping. Families are back to being families, dining
together, perhaps putting up with each other, but nevertheless loving each other more. Malls may have closed but getting access to necessities such foods, fruits, and vegetables have never been easier. Whether as raw ingredients or pre-cooked, foods can be on our tables with the click of a phone, iPad or computer. Fruits and vegetables overflow in colorful, umbrella-
covered stalls in the streets. We whisper a prayer of thanks that our land is so blessed and our families, now more than ever are more bonded.
Today, we have a total COVID Care census of fifty-one (51). We had two (2) admissions, one (1) non-PHC confirmed and one (1) COVID suspect patient. Among our COVID suspects, one (1) PHC patient was transferred to the non-COVID ward, being RT-PCR test negative; four (4) among the non-PHC patients who likewise tested negative were also transferred to the non- COVID ward. One (1), however, in this group was found to be RT-PCR test positive and
therefore was transferred to the COVID ward.

How we see the world depends a lot on what lenses we choose to see it. If the world were half-populated with pessimists, perhaps the Earth would be out of the planets’ sphere due to the weight it has to bear. But fortunately, we believe there are more optimists on this
universe than pessimists. Difficulties, whether they be due to a prolonged pandemic such as what we have or a more transitory catastrophe as a volcanic eruption or an earthquake-
triggered tsunami, will come and go. In some people’s lifetime, they pass through. We happen to have this COVID-19 pandemic in ours. Getting unduly overweighed with the nuisances they inevitably bring will not change their occurrence. So it’s really up to us on how we face this, come to terms with it, and how we find ways to cope and live safely along it. No one says the road ahead will be easy. It has not been easy the past ten weeks. But well-armed with optimistic lenses and buoyant spirits, we will somehow get through this global pandemic. We trust and we obey for we believe.
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.” Psalm 18: 2-3.
