In celebration of the 85
thyear of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, U.P. Chapter, this 2018, the Phi Kappa Phi Board shall give these awards in special recognition of member-exemplars of excellence:
1
.PHI KAPPA PHI AWARDS of EXCELLENCE to outstanding member-achievers; and
3. PHI KAPPA PHI EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARDS to those past and present PKP officers who have
rendered meritorious service to the Honor Society Chapter with indefatigable and selfless dedication.
NOMINATIONS may be submitted to the PKP Awards and
Recognition Committee, Phi Kappa Phi Office, National
Engineering Center, U.P. Diliman, from today to November
5, 2018.

The PHI KAPPA PHI Board is also sponsoring CONTESTS OF
EXCELLENCE, ABOUT EXCELLENCE, FOR EXCELLENCE (IN THE ARTS, SCIENCES, SOCIAL SCIENCES, ENGINEERING, AND THE TECHNOLOGIES) among the U.P. STUDENTS OF ALL THE U.P. CAMPUSES. The categories include:
1. Best Visual Arts
a. Best Painting or 2-D Art in any medium (oil, pastel, ink, multi-media, etc.) on 9 1/2” x 15” material (illustration board, canvas, or any material of the artist’s choice) b. Best Sculpture or 3-D Art (any material)
2. Best Literary Works (Short story, Poem, Essay) a. In English (one to five pages)
b. In Filipino (One to five pages
3. Most Significant Research/ Project/ Investigative Study/Web page design in the Sciences/in
Engineering/in IT
(If a printed text version: at least five pages) 4. Most Outstanding Research/Project in the Social
Sciences (If a printed text version: at least five
pages)
5. Most Outstanding Research/Project in the Applied Social Sciences (Social work, Community
Development, Law, etc.)
(If a printed text version: at least five pages) 5. Best Lyrics for the HYMN of the PKP, U.P. Chapter Prizes and Certificates of Recognition await the Winners.
Rules:
1. Entries must embody/signify/symbolize either of these themes:
a. “The Role of the U.P. Student in Achieving Excellence in U.P.” or b. “Let the Love of Learning Rule Humanity.”

2. Each entry must use a pen name. In a sealed small letter envelope, however, the contestant must write his/her name, identify the pen name used, and submit the small sealed envelope together with the entry.
3. Entries must be placed in sealed envelopes (expanding envelopes, if needed) and addressed in this manner:

Lucero or any PKP Board Officer) not later than November 5, 2018. Winners will be announced on November 15, 2018, and will be awarded during the 85th Anniversary Awards and
Recognition Program on November 17, 2018 at the Bahay ng Alumni. #
