DOST Announces Search for ITDI Director
The DOST is in search for the top position of its Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) following the mandatory retirement of its Director, Dr. Nuna E.
Almanzor on September 19, 2014.
The ITDI is among the instrumentalities that laid the groundwork for science and technology in the country way back in 1901. Today, it is one of the DOST’s research and development institutes (RDIs) that undertakes multidisciplinary industrial R&D, technical services, and knowledge translation or technology transfer and commercialization. ITDI harnesses know-how in new technology and product innovation in five major areas, namely: food processing, materials science, chemicals and energy, environment and biotechnology, and packaging technology. With an ISO 9001:2008 certification, it is now a credible and reliable industry and government partner in accelerating growth and development in the country. Most of its testing services and laboratories are also ISO/IEC 17025 – accredited.
The position to be filled up is Director IV (with CSC Salary Grade of 28) with the following requirements:
Education: Doctoral degree in Science or Engineering
Experience: 3 years of supervisory experience, at least one year industry experience, preferably with technology transfer experience
Eligibility: Career Service Executive Eligibility (CSEE)/Career Executive Service (CES) must be attained within one year of appointment
Competencies: Must have a plan/strategic programs for the Institute to closely collaborate with industry, research and development institutes, and academe, both local and international.

The deadline for submission of documents is on or before October 3, 2014.
Clearances from NBI, CSC, Sandigan Bayan and the Office of the Ombudsman will be required from applicants who will be notified after October 7, 2014. These clearances must be submitted on or before October 13, 2014.
