What are the problems of librarian paraprofessionals who manage public school libraries in the provinces of Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental. As a result, challenges for school libraries have arisen due to low appreciation and inadequate knowledge among policy makers and educators about the role of the school library (Hart & Zinn, 2007; Ikojo-Odongo, 2008; World Bank, 2008). According to Arua and Chinaka (2011), the limited working hours of libraries is one of the problems of school libraries.

Therefore, the need for training and seminars of the library's paraprofessionals is an essential aspect in the management of school libraries. By using this research design, we were able to explore the lived experiences of the library paraprofessionals who manage public sector school libraries. In this study, our participants were the library paraprofessionals who manage public school libraries (both in elementary and middle schools) in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental counties.

Without a doubt, poor implementation of the law can be seen through the administrators' lack of financial support to the school library. Library paraprofessionals also shared that the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was very supportive when it came to the welfare of the school library. Challenges for school libraries therefore apparently arose from poor appreciation and insufficient knowledge among policy makers and educators about the role of the school library (Hart & Zinn, 2007; Ikojo-Odongo, 2008; World Bank, 2008).

Their willingness and commitment to working together allowed them to help library paraprofessionals strengthen the library's support system.

What are the fears of guidance counselors in handling clients with suicidal tendencies?

What motivates guidance counselors to facilitate clients with suicidal tendencies?

What strategies do guidance counselors utilize to deal with clients' suicidal tendencies?

We determined the following criteria for the selection of participants: school counselors who work at public or private secondary and tertiary levels of education, have or are in the process of obtaining a license or designation in the counseling profession, have experience in dealing with clients with suicidal tendencies, have been working for at least one year in the field and ready to actively participate during the implementation of the study. The purpose and meaning were clearly stated in the letter and the informed consent form so that the participants understood the nature of the study. Specifically, this study followed the following seven steps: the transcripts were read carefully to get a general sense of the overall content; significant statements were then extracted and recorded in a separate file, noting page and line numbers; constructed meanings were derived in each significant statement; clustered themes were sorted by meaning; the findings were included in a comprehensive description within the framework of the studied phenomenon;.

The study ensured that the translations of the data from the responses of the informants were accurate in nature (Graneheim & Lundman, 2004). Detailed information about the context of the study was therefore presented by citing several authors to present the phenomenon in other fields (Shenton, 2004). Objective information was given by describing the exact methods used in the collection of data, analysis of the data and interpretation (Creswell, 2012).

This takes into account the degree to which other people can confirm the results and is related to the objectivity of the study (Trochim, 2006). In addition, the consents were carefully explained to the participants and ensured that they understood the entire interview process. The objectives of the study were explained to the participants so that they understood the full scope and limitations of the study.

The questions in the interview with the key informants were quite sensitive because of their purpose, which was to know the guidance counselors' first-hand and previous experiences in dealing with suicidal clients. In this study, three sub-themes have been identified as the fears of care providers when dealing with suicidal clients. Jennie, who has been working as a guidance counselor for a year, expressed her anxiety in dealing with suicidal clients.

We cannot guarantee napagdatingnila kung asasilayung boredom or depression magstrikesakanila at any time of the day.(Meredith, Transcript 7, Page 2, Lines 26-29). You can have afterthoughts for every suicidal client…as there is no guarantee that when they get home their boredom or depression may strike at any time of day.). Two sub-themes were drawn from the informants' answers about their strategies in dealing with clients with suicidal tendencies.

Kanang I always make to the point na mag follow-up and then call up the attention of the parents, not just you kay you also feel burned-out baya kung ikawlanggud.(Transcript 9, Page 5,

The feelings of guidance counselors must be protected so that fears such as incompetence do not surface during the counseling process. Because of the negative effect of treating suicidal clients, guidance counselors are prevented from following their work schedules. Thus, this causes the counselor to exert so much effort and devote their full focus to their suicidal clients.

Despite the fear they face, counselors are still motivated to help their clients with suicidal tendencies. Most of them view their jobs as a helping profession as they strive to lead their suicidal clients to successful lives. Dealing with suicidal clients is the most stressful part of a counselor's position because of its increasing frequency and significant impact, both personal and professional.

Counseling techniques such as rational emotive behavior therapy and cognitive behavior therapy are useful in guiding counselors in treating suicidal clients. Undeniably, the strategies and programs implemented will help guidance counselors achieve their goals and expectations for their suicidal clients. This study focused on fears, motivations, and strategies among guidance counselors in treating clients with suicidal tendencies.

He excluded the experiences of male guidance counselors in treating suicidal clients who were also affected by the same phenomena. The Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) is encouraged to conduct seminars and workshops to improve the counseling skills of guidance counselors in dealing with suicidal clients. We should not be blind to these phenomena that happen to them, especially when we are dealing with suicidal clients.

As Kelly's Personal Construct Theory and Beck's Cognitive Distortions Theory point out, guidance counselors may be vulnerable to the impact of treating clients with suicidal tendencies. Guidance counselors must expend generous efforts to become the best counselor they can be. Current levels of perceived stress among mental health social workers working with suicidal clients.
