Employability of High School Graduates in Antipolo, Rizal (Undergraduate Thesis).
Adviser: Prof. Amelia L. Bello
High school education equips individuals with knowledge and skills suitable for employment. However, even though there is a large number of high school graduates, many of them remained unemployed.
The study seeks to measure the employability of high school graduates, identifying the factors which contribute to their employment. Furthermore, the study aims to determine the causes of high unemployment rates among high school graduates.
A total of 119 samples were included in the study, 39 employed high school graduates and 80 unemployed high school graduates using purposive sampling to pre-identify the proper respondents, who are individuals with high school graduate as their highest educational attainment. Most of the respondents are found to belong to the lower age groups. This could be explained by the fact that as people grow older, they would have the tendency to acquire higher education to increase their stream of income.
Several factors affect the employability of a high school graduate but only work experience was found to be significant. Respondents with much work experience were found to be employed.
