important note

- The Content of this User Guide is especially formulated for iPace Canvas Courses.

- Some iPace Canvas Courses may have some different or additional guide depending on the instruction of each Subject Matter Expert (SME) or teacher.

Such instructions may be accessed through the Announcements tab.

Login to canvas

Go to dlsl.instructure.com and sign in using your DLSL email account.

Upon signing in, you will be directed to the Canvas Dashboard,

CAnvas Dashboard

The Canvas Dashboard allows users to access three main components.

1. Global Navigation (direct access to courses and other information in Canvas) 2. Course Content (individual course cards or list of all your courses)

3. Sidebar (Coming Up Feed, To-do list, Recent Feedback and View Grades)

Homepage

The homepage serves as your main landing page once you select your course.

This shows the basic information/overview about the course. On the right side of the homepage, you'll be able to see the Navigation Panel which will serve as your quick access to the course components.

This navigation panel includes:

- Home (directs you to the homepage) - Announcements

- Modules - Badges

Modules

To access this, you may either select a linked image/text in the homepage or simply click Modules in the Navigation Panel. Once you're in the module's landing page, select the first page of the first module to start your course.

*Courses will be sequential and requirements will be needed to access latter modules/learning paths.

Each module will have at least one assessment such as an assignment or a quiz.

Assignment

To submit, select the Assignment and you will be prompted to select how you would like to submit your assignment either as File Upload or Text Entry

Quizzes

To take, select the quiz and click Take Quiz.

Badges

As you progress in the course, you will be receving rewards in the form of badges. Just select page of the badge and you will receive it automatically once all requirements and pre-requisites are accomplished.

Certificate

At the end of the course, you will be receiving an auto-generated Certificate of Completion. Just select the page of the COC, click the linked image/text that will direct you to a Google form that you will fill out. The details that you will input in the Google form will be reflected on your COC, thus, be extra careful in answering it.

For Course Content Concerns

You may communicate with the assigned SME/Teacher for the respective courses. Note: Emails of the respective SMEs are located in the homepage tab: 'About the Teacher' of each respective course
