NAMRIA celebrates Women’s Month 2013
NAMRIA joined the nationwide Women’s Month Celebration last March 2013 through the conduct of several activities promoting women’s awareness of their rights. (Above) Walk, Run, and Dance, the kickoff event, set the pace for the celebration. The zumba dance activity (right) was led by instructress Laura M. Tenorio.
The Magna Carta of Women and Violence against Women and Children information caravan was held at the NAMRIA multidisciplinary vessels docked at the Subic Bay Port on 27 February 2013; while (above) A Day with Women Commisioned Officers and Enlisted Personnel activity was held at NAMRIA, San Nicolas with Deputy Administrator Linda SD. There was also an Indie film showing on women empowerment, issues, and concerns every Tuesday at 12 noon for the whole month of March. The special screening of Huling Biyahe was attended by no less than its director and producer, Mr. Sigfreid Barros–Sanchez.
An exhibit on this year’s theme Kababaihan: Gabay sa Pagtahak sa Tuwid na Daan was set up and featured Filipina executives in the government service.
The seminars conducted were (clockwise from top left): Cooking with the Expert by Chef Raymond Martin M. Reyes, Makeup Makeover by Ms. Liberty SD. Papa, and Livestock Raising Livelihood Seminar by Ms. Marcia B. Lanuza. The NAMRIA Day Care Center Parent-Child Talent Show was also held. The first-prize winner was the Clerigo family.
