This course is a combination of lecture practicum covering the basic topics on dairy production and management with more emphasis on animal care and milking activities. This is an exclusive course for those under the Young Filipino Farmers Training Program in Japan.

The Dairy Training and Research Institute is mandated to assist in the development of the local dairy industry through research, instruction and extension. Consistent with the national policy and goals of the UP System, DTRI vigorously pursues its mandate by training manpower required by the dairy industry and conducting researches relevant to the immediate needs of the dairy industry. It also achieves this by assisting farmers in improving their livelihood through appropriate extension activities in coordination with government and concerned private
agencies, and disseminating dairy information needed by all sectors at all levels of the dairy industry.
A non-degree granting unit, it is supported by seven faculty members, a Professor Emeritus, five Research Extension and Professional Staff and 43 administrative in its various extension services.
