RESEARCH PLANNING WORKSHOP ON 5 AUGUST 2013, MONDAY, AT THE CHSS AVR

In line with the University's efforts toward internationalization, the Office of Research will be organizing a Research Planning Workshop on 5 August 2013, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the CHSS Audio-Visual Room. During the workshop, the following topics will be discussed (kindly see attached tentative program):

1. A review of the current role of the Office of Research as it gears towards the establishment of the Center for the Advancement of Research in Mindanao (CARIM) 2 . A review of the University's research performance in the last 10 years

3. A review of existing and proposed R&D-related policies on Research Load Credit, in- house research grant, research dissemination support, etc.

4. Strategies to improve research dissemination (e.g., journal publication, international conferences, institutional academic repository, etc.)

5 . A review of the Comprehensive Mindanao Studies Program (CMSP) and taking note of

emerging research niche areas

During the workshop, there will be a lot of discussions regarding where we are now and where we are going as a research university. Also, the input of the faculty regarding a number of revisions to policies and strategic directions is highly necessary. Hence, I urge all faculty members to attend this important event.

Thank you so much for your cooperation!
