CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

5.2 POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS

The interesting finding is of relative government quality between eleven source countries and Thailand, it is can has impact on FDI inflows to Thailand. From our result in this study, the policy makers can determine policy and regulations to improve quality in part of government effective by improve and develop the quality of public services, increase efficiency of civil servants, reduce political pressure in Thailand and give more freedom.

Public services quality, Nowadays Thailand have the low public services, example in public transport in Bangkok have many types are public buses, vans, minibuses, subways, electric trains, ferries, motorcycle taxis, tuk-tuks, taxis but a group of medium - low income people living in this city facing the problem of expensive public transport fare, not accessible in all areas (Ministry of Transport, 2021). So, the public buses are the most comprehensive and cheapest alternative to public transport in Bangkok. The public buses should be the basic services that Thai people should be entitled but these public services have problem because quality and service Including the fare is not good enough for the people. Thai buses are in old condition. Many buses have been in use for more than 30 years, buses routes overlap but not cover all area in the city. Government agencies and policy makers

can determine policies to solve problems with Thai public transport and buses. For example, mapping of the bus route is clear and the information is easily accessible to the public, take out the old bus service and add new buses and use technology to improve the service.

Thailand still faces the problem of inadequate basic education management, a few children that can continued their studies until the bachelor's degree (Equitable Education Research Institute (EEFI), 2021). The free education policy is a policy that should be continuously developed in order to make education become a basic welfare that is accessible to all. The government improve this public quality by set clear rules for receiving free education benefits for people to have easy access and distribute welfare to people in all areas.

Civil services quality, The quality of civil servants performing official duties in the Ministry, Department and government agency (Sundell, 2014). policy makers set policies and requirements to reduce admissions to government services with the sponsorship system, and determine policies that increases channels for receiving complaints and opinions on quality of civil servants from the people.

Rule of law can improve by formulate policy to build a reliability and quality of the police, the courts, the property rights, and improve the degree confidence including acceptance more of the societal rules from the citizens. (Rodríguez-Pose and Cols, 2017). Policy maker can determine policies that increase channels for

proposing legal and public opinions. develop and improve law to be up-to-date in accordance with today's society, example promote and legislate the law on women's rights and LGBTQ+ rights for support equality in society. Improve and increase the government quality indicators of government quality and rule of law for attract more foreign direct investment into Thailand.
