ABSTRACT

The primary goal of this research is to identify the black spots of U-Turn in Bangkok and Surrounding Area. There are a total of 228 U-Turns used for analyzing process in this study. Three methods of identifying black spots of U-Turn (namely the accident frequency method, accident rate method, and rate quality control method) were used in this research. The most hazardous location of U- Turn was found to be at KM 4+700 of Theparuk road. (Highway Number 3268). After determining the black spots of U-Turn, the further recommendation for further actions can be made to reduce the accident for Theparuk road by implementing traffic conflict technique method. This study recommend to have one more traffic lane for through traffic in order to reduce the conflict at this U-Turn.
