Abstract:
The Crop Adviser Institute (CAI) was developed by Iowa State University (ISU) in an effort to enhance the quality and availability of continuing education opportunities for agricultural professionals such as certified crop advisers. The CAI is currently providing high-quality continuing education courses in an electronic format, delivered to the learner for use when they want, where they want.
Crop Adviser Institute course modules feature high-quality graphics and images, simulations, animations, and other content to stimulate critical thinking and enhance learning processes. An on-line exam is available for learners wishing to obtain continuing education credit (CEUs) with certifying organizations.
The CAI is a partnership between the ISU College of Agriculture and ISU Extension. Crop Adviser Institute courses are available from the Institute’s website at www.cai.iastate.edu, where additional resources for ag professionals are available as well, including current news, weather and market reports.
The CAI also keeps a CEU course transcript for each learner which is accessible on-line 24/7. The Crop Adviser Institute will present an overview of the program as well as results of preliminary program evaluation work.
